I am TOTALLY that guy in stealth games that wants to sneak by without killing anybody. The last Deus Ex and Splinter Cell games eventually forced me to :/

What about that is fun, if I may ask you or anyone else? Is it just the extra challenge? I always liked sneaking past dudes when it made sense and icing them when that made more sense in stealth games. I loved the stealth combat in Conviction but thought it was not so good in Deus Ex: HR, despite generally liking that game as well.

The challenge is part of it but normally, I'd say it feels pretty badass to complete your objectives without anyone being the wiser. Also in most stealth-action games, you are rewarded more if you complete things this way as opposed to guns blazing or killing anyone (and usually, the action part in these games is difficult/not good - fighting in Hitman is extremely difficult once you're discovered). I replayed a lot of missions or restarted in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood because I wanted to see what happened with 100% sync and because I thought the stealthier challenges fit in more with Ezio's character.

In the case of Deus Ex: HR, the boss fights really screwed over stealth-oriented builds and didn't make a lot of sense since I spent the whole game cloaking through or knocking guys unconscious.

Just mentioning Tenchu makes me want to go play it. I don't care if they were horrible I had a lot of fun playing 1 through 3.

While I'm not the biggest fan of stealth, this still looks great! Hope to play it soon.

The hours per dollar thing can be messy, but I think people want to know if a game is longer than two hours if they are being asked to pay $15.

I have to agree with you there. It's not always about the hours per dollar with me, but when a developer dances around the "how long is this game" question, that means it's ultra short.

That's not always a bad thing, especially for me because my gaming time is quite limited, but still. I'll wait until a few days after release and see what the GB community has to say about Mark before I take the plunge.

This looks cool and the QLEX shows the game can get deep. That was my gripe with Shank, that it wasn't very deep in part the it was supposed to excel at, and became quite repetitive.

Just spitballin' here, but when someone who made the game is having a discussion with someone who doesn't pay for games maybe they should just forgo the whole "value" conversation?

On topic: Game looks pretty sweet, definitely more appealing to me than Shank. I too have similar qualms with the stealth genre and I really like all the binary visual queues they've implemented here.

I generally like the game but my only gripe is I don't like the way it pauses the game when you aim something, especially in middle of combat, it takes the skill out of the game and makes it too easy in my opinion.

@triviaman09: @WJist: For me, give me the chance in a game to take the moral highground and I will pounce on that shit like a starved lioness does a sickly antelope. Especially so if, like the case seems to be with this game, it comes at the price of being more challenging.

It doesn't always end up being a very pleasant or rewarding experience however. Mirror's Edge for instance became quite a bit more frustrating when I did this.

Pretty sure that the plural of Pokémon is Pokémans. Gotta catch those Pokémans.... =p

I agree that no one in that video actually cares about value.

It just bugs when people who review products for a living forget that the first interaction a consumer will ever have with any game is paying for it. This patron of it arts crap that has been springing up out of reviewers is a bummer.

I just think that Jeff misses the current point of the hour question. He seems to be working off the old RPG mindset that a gamers want/need to be over 100 of hours to be happy. People ask about hours now because games get shorter with every release.

I just don't want Brad and Patrick to defend the dollar per minute question that is bound to happen at some point.

Very cool. I enjoyed Shank to a point, but the game did seem a bit anemic as far as content goes.

But if this game means that these guys are one step closer to making a Samurai Jack game, bring it on.

Man, I was hoping for a PS3 release. I have dusted off the old 360 recently to replay The Witcher 2 and whatnot, so it's already back out on the entertainment center. Guess I better round up some Microsoft space bucks by September.

Yeah, the hours-to-dollars argument only holds up in a world where every game is of exactly equal quality, which is clearly not the world we occupy. For $15 I'd take the 90 minutes of Journey over the potentially dozens of hours you could spend playing Rainbow Moon* any day. I don't remember seeing many people who played through Journey or Limbo saying they didn't get their money's worth.

*I liked Rainbow Moon quite a bit, but on a time-for-money basis it's an extreme contrast to something like Journey

On topic, you guys saying this game is overly short are really jumping to conclusions. What I saw of it outside the QL didn't give that impression at all.

really not liking the trend of QLEXs that seems to be popping up...ALOT lately, most of them (like this one or the Transformers one) are basically just half an hour of PR shilling while Jeff or whoever goes "uh hu" "oh yeah?" etc. The Darksiders one wasnt that bad, but still, just the fact that these are replacing actual quicklooks (aparently there will be no Darksiders 2 "proper" quicklook) is troubling.

It seems they dont understand that we dont watch quicklooks for game footage, at least not just that, we watch it to see THEM play and THEM comment and goof around with the games. If we just wanted game footage, we could see it on a dozen other websites, know what I mean?
