Mini Ninja's has broken my mind.

Surprised that Jeff forgot the other ninja characteristics, they love to say 'get over here', turn invisible and/or rip someone's head & spine out after shooting them with ice. Does look a lot more interesting in theme & gameplay than Shank so definitely will dive into this one.

Ugh! EX QLs are the worst. Plus Devs always bring out Brad's inner used car salesman. Only thing worse is when he tries to sell Blizzard games.

This is one of the better Quick Look EXs, because instead of just bringing in a salesman spouting off a bunch of selling points, the GiantBomb guys are pointing out design elements, and this guy is talking a bit about the process that led to that.

The hours per dollar thing can be messy, but I think people want to know if a game is longer than two hours if they are being asked to pay $15.

This is probably the case for a lot of people, yeah. But it's unfortunate that people think that way sometimes. Journey was only a couple hours long, if you took your time, and I have absolutely no regrets about plunking down $15 for it. It's all about what you get out of it, not about how much time you put in.

Any time I catch myself thinking that $10 or $15 is too much to spend on a game, I just try to put it in perspective with other things that cost me the same amount of money, like seeing a movie at the theater or buying myself lunch at work, and realize that I'm owning the fruit of someone's hard work and creativity for a similar amount.

Never played Shank, but this looks pretty cool. I am glad the stealth genre is still getting some (presumably) good games with this and Hitman.

Seems nice! But its a shame that is Xbox exclusive :(

I keep wanting to like what Klei does but they've failed to really deliver each time. The fact that they're ditching trying to make Shank good and are taking a shot at something different earns them the benefit of the doubt I reckon.

This looks awesome. It's nice to see a game company really taking the time to make a good stealth game. Looking forward to finding out more. :D

Oh cool, didn't know they got the Kill Screen magazine creator as the writer.

Whether you like the game or not, you can see the Splinter Cell Conviction influence with the black-and-white to color aesthetic, last known position, and it not being the end of the game when you're spotted which are great features to take away from a not-so-great game. I was grown up on Tenchu on PS1, and seeing developers learn and improve on the accessibility of the genre is great when you'd think this genre would be dead (along with horror where the gameplay isn't as empowering and not conducive to mass market), if we only had the big-budget game market.

I skipped out on Shank 2 because it was too similar to the first one. But this game looks fantastic.

I'd get the PC version, looks fun.

I don't want every quick look to be an EX but I will say I've been enjoying all these EXes thoroughly. Throw in a good dev and you get some industry perspective.

Looks cool. For some reason it made me think about Gunpoint (video), but they're not THAT similar in concept.

Game looks badass! Also really agree with what this guy was saying about stealth games being opaque. Definitely interested in this now.

I was already interested, reading Patrick's article about stealth mechanics and stealth games in general, but seeing the game in action now REALLY makes me want to play it. It looks really fun ! I'll probably have to wait for the mandatory "Xbox to Steam" time, like every indie game though. But hey, I can wait :'D

Also, that was a great Quick Look EX ! I mean Nels talked about a lot of development stuff and his thoughts about stealth games in general. That was really interesting !

Dev was talky, but mostly non bullshit, I like him.

As for the game I was SOLD, I'm not really into the character artstyle but it animates well and everything else looks so goddarn smooth and well considered. I checked the wiki page during the latter half of the QL and was so relieved when they mentioned that they're considering a PC version.

Luckily art in running game looks better than the screenshot.

What about that is fun, if I may ask you or anyone else? Is it just the extra challenge? I always liked sneaking past dudes when it made sense and icing them when that made more sense in stealth games. I loved the stealth combat in Conviction but thought it was not so good in Deus Ex: HR, despite generally liking that game as well.

Another amazing xbox exlusive game I can't play. :(

curious to see how it pans out... and hopefully it's a Klei game I can finally get into. I loved the visual style of Shank but could never get into it.
