I've been really enjoying this game. Best part so far though? Being able to throw shovels like the spears in Far Cry Primal. Burying a shovel in some cultists heads is oddly satisfying.

Have you tried reporting a bug then? Instead of just randomly threatening to unsub you could report it and go from there. I had an issue where GB videos weren't working on Chrome and it was fixed in like a week or two.

I have gigabit downstream that works fine everywhere but here. They have a routing issue or something they're never going to sort out apparently.

I don't get the argument against the hunting in this game. In previous Far Cry games you'd hunt the thing so you could craft the thing and then no longer hunt the thing because you crafted the thing. How is this any different?

@thatonedudenick: Like it or not, it's in Giant Bomb's wheelhouse as a journalism website (and also natural human reaction) to comment on the political climate that influences the development of all creative media, including games. GB's willingness to take on current events head-on is the reason I've been a subscriber for 7-odd years.

TLDR; Games in general have been political for decades now, homie.

You can't really say "Keep politics out of it" when Ubisoft ran a marketing campaign that screamed "Look at us, we're putting real-world politics into our game!"

(Even if they completely walked back that stance before release.)

I agree totally, the "Keep games apolitical" thing is silly, life is political! It's what you realize in adulthood, and yes it sucks, I wish I could go a day without getting upset about something in political world that isn't going how I want, but that's life and games will often reflect that. The absence of political statements in a game is itself a political statement.

@mikemcn: I often find those who complain about games being "too political" are often complaining about games that shine a light on their terrible political opinions.

All these political complaints and nobody has a single beef with Jeff's favorite gun being a gun that vapes? We're just lettin that one go, eh?

the mission structure explained in the map screen at the start sounds and looks exactly like Ghost Recon Wildlands, but smaller.

It really bugs me that you cannot lower your weapon when walking around, or not actively shooting or aiming at something

@thatonedudenick: A joke is a joke, it was all of 5 seconds of an almost hour-long video and definitely not out of character given anyone who has listened to Giant Bomb for any length of time would have a pretty clear understanding of where they stand politically. Just have a sense of humor about the extremists on both sides of the political spectrum that make both of us look bad.

Drink everytime Jeff says that the story is bad.

I do not think the west coast should have quick looked this game. Jeff and Ben's lack of enthusiasm was tiresome immediately to me. I've enjoyed the game so far, it's ridiculously fun in cooperative.

I'm not saying the story isn't bad, it certainly is, but honestly, it's not any worse than Far Cry normally is.

Jeff and Ben were a real bad combo on this QuickLook. We get a somewhat bored Jeff and an even more uninterested and crabby Ben. In the past when Jeff was low energy on a game you’d have Vinny kinda prop him up and add some life to the mix, especially in open world games. Even Brad can be good about this when needed. I mean it’s FarCry so you kinda know what you’re gonna get, but boy Ben especially dragged this thing down.

I’m interested to see what Far Cry 5 has to offer, since I really want to check our more of the setting (I live in Montana and love it here), but I may want to look at other video content first. I’m not sure if I got a good sense of what to expect in moment to moment gameplay from this QL, or how the exploration shakes out.
