I played through the trial of this game not long after it dropped on XBLA. It seemed like a lot of fun, but a bit automated if that makes sense. I didn't feel all that challenged that much, but then again that was just the starting levels... I should probably get the other DXed classics (like Pac-Man) first though.

Edit: Some of these levels (the second one though show) seem to shake up the formations and such quite a bit. I am intrigued... (but shouldn't spend the money)

Galaga is the best game ever

I've never played a Galaga game, but I loved Pac-Man DX and this looks crayzay!

This looks amazing. I really like the original Galaga and this just looks ten times cooler.

Thank god Ryan pointed out the blue line thing because I was seriously shouting it at my screen, Brad is terrible.

I sort of liked Galaga Legions because it just seemed neat. You could place half of your legion on the left and half on the right while you fired up. Just liked it. This also looks good but eh not as crazy as Pacman CE DX so I don't care much to buy it.
 
Brad not realizing the laser line things were the formations made me facepalm though. But eh he didn't play regular Legions so whatever.

Not sure why Ryan's so into this one, but hated the first one; they're not that drastically different, other than being to aim freely in this one and the prior utilizing a turret-esque system.

Whatever, I'm only going to use the Galaxian graphics.

Ugh...this is not the quick look to watch when you have a hangover.

Galaxian is cool, but Type 4 visuals don't look quite right in this game. Still, love it.

LEGION sold me on this game.

Brad - you REALLY have to learn to use the duel shooting formation - you'll take out certain waves before they even get on the screen.

I enjoyed Pacman DX greatly, might pick this up, ill see. got WAY to many games to play right now lol

I can't believe Brad didn't realise that the lasers tracked the path of the aliens. Took me about five seconds to realise after he said they were 'random'.

I am now so looking forward to Mappy DX.

Games like these need better contrast between the different visual elements on the screen. My eyes always get lost in the haze of neon particles flying around everywhere.

This has put me in the mood to go watch the PacMan CE DX QL again. I shall do that promptly.

@Ronald: Just so you know, they've already announced their next title, and it's Aero-Cross (based on Metro Cross, doesn't seem to be part of an anniversary thing though.)

Next year is the 30th anniversary of Dig Dug and Pole Position, so GET HYPED! Also, year after that is Mappy and LITTLE ELSE.

There was nothing wrong with Galaga Legions. I played the shit outta that game. I'll probably just go back and play more of that rather than pay 10 bucks for this.

I really cant see a single thing in this game that would make it worth playing for even 5min whats all the fuzz about? Yes this is how games where made before with 1Kb memory limitation but lets face it, even by wii standards this is crap.

I was thinking the same thing. A lot of the features they're getting excited about here were in the first Legions.

They mentioned mappy, I remember that game was hard as shit when I was a kid

It looked interesting, so I downloaded the trial ... meh. I'm not going to drop ten bucks on this. It's just not challenging enough. Maybe later levels get more difficult, but from what I saw of the trial, I'm not terribly impressed. Back in the day, Galaga was my go-to game in the arcade since I could play forever (it seemed) on a single token compared to other games. Something about this doesn't quite feel like Galaga to me.

It seems okay, but I feel like the crew gets a bit too easily excited for the DX games.

@Little_Socrates: Isn't the whole GET HYPE meme done now? Why don't you just add a ROFLcopter while you're at it?

I really liked the trial of this and I liked the enhanced version of Galaga(or was it Galaxian?) on Namco Museum on PS2.
