I think this does well as a logic/programming edutainment tool. Otherwise, it seems a little clunky.

I adore programming, I do it a lot and am making a career of it, and this game is mind-numbingly boring for me... Hack 'n' Slash, Infinifactory, and Human Resource Machine are all more interesting imo.

Europe and its "maths." (Yes, I know you will counter with "It's mathmaticS, not mathmetic," but I can't explain how very wrong it sounds to an American ear.)

Had to bail out about 14 minutes in due to motion sickness. Looks cool and I want to see more of Vinny playing with this world, but my days of having the room spin like that are behind me.

Even though programming is my job, I do like games that try to employ that same logic and framework. This game just seems a bit too clunky though.

If you're looking for programming style logic puzzles, I'd recommend Human Resource Machine (which is in a bundle on Humble Bundle with about 24 hours remaining) or TIS-100. HRM is a bit easy if you have any exposure to programming, but I found TIS-100 to be pretty challenging, especially when trying to find optimal robust solutions.

Some of the later puzzles in Human Resource Machine get pretty challenging though, even as someone who's been exposed to programming. Even as someone who's done some work in Assembly! (Though, granted, it has been a few years since I touched it at all)

I second this.

But I also think this game could be a good way to start someone with programming, having them understand the logic behind it before writing actual code.

Kinda nice to see a programming game that isn't just another assembly-like puzzle game. Sometimes it's just fun to make things bouncy and move it around. The aesthetic is a little drab though.

I know this stuff needs to be restricted to ease you into it (and, I guess, for puzzle-design reasons), but some of the restrictions are really weird. You can only use certain numbers? You can move in the +X but not -X direction? Why are you sometimes required to hook up the "main" and sometimes not? What's the difference between "object is solid" and "use collisions" in this context?

I think this is actually a better game for teaching people who want to be game DESIGNERS rather than programmers. A large portion of their job is hooking up diagrams something like these. (As mentioned above, Human Resources Machine and TIS-100 are better games if you're interested in learning programming; I might add SpaceChem as well.)

I don't know how it can be less clunky. I think it is clunky because they require certain functions to fit with another. I would like to see it in VR. It might be a little more intuitive.

Does anybody know which QL it is where the guys played a Unity asset store 'horror' game which was just them walking around a town, then entering a building and looking through furniture? I remember it was dark and rainy, but I don't remember the name of the game. Just that they eventually got frustrated and quit.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_comma

While the Oxford comma is a thing I will defend the correctness of until Kingdom Come, that in the deck is not an Oxford comma. Specifically, that is not a comma separated list of items or ideas (you could not replace it was 'perfect, bouncy, and utopia' unless you were just listing words). It is a list of adjectives ('perfect, bouncy') modifying an object. And in such a case you would not include that last comma.

Happy to see coverage of this game. It's certainly interesting, but pretty bland stylistically. Could really use a sandbox-type mode to make the whole thing more playful and less homework-y.

The charitable interpretation is to read it as "a perfect (bouncy) utopia" http://grammar-monster.com/lessons/commas_for_parenthesis.htm

But using commas to parenthesize a single adjective like that is pretty confusing; dashes or literal parentheses serve the purpose better.

Don't think this one's for me. For me, a mundane task (moving a box) isn't made any more exciting by having to program that movement instead of just, well, moving the box.

Just curious, but could Vinny have changed the program for the rotating block so that it was stationary? I'm not sure if I missed him try it, or if he was just unable to edit it.
