Quick Look: Halo: Spartan Strike

It would be awesome if one of these games was great.

Less than a dozen people made Helldivers - that's a great formula for Halo to look at for these twin stick releases.

This game looks incredibly boring.

I support more Renegade Ops talk. That game was super rad, maybe it's about time I download that DLC campaign.

@csl316: Exactly. For all the sweet Warthog driving that @drewbert was looking for in this, it's pretty much what Renegade Ops is completely about. That awesome sliding but still full control feel, but throw in the incredible explosions that only the Just Cause 2 engine can offer? Hell fucking yes.

In fact, I'm horribly sad there isn't a sequel to Renegade Ops. :(

I really wanted to like Renegade Ops, but playing by myself it was just okay. Crazy, unexpected explosions work better with a group of cars on the ground I guess.

Same shit as Spartan Assault. I thought this was gonna be better but it seems to be the same thing as that other game. Assault was one of the most boring games I played last year and I only got it when it was free with Games with Gold. Shame.

I'm not joking here, but it doesn't look like Halo without a large amount of bloom.

This looks really underwhelming. Definitely go play Renegade Ops instead.

Here Maps is free on Windows Phone worldwide, not sure what Verizon pulled on you. Here is much better than Google Maps as well.

Every top down shooter to me just pales in comparison to Helldivers. I know it's not really a fair match up in most cases, but this just seems bland when viewed that way.

If they make it free on Games With Gold though? Of course I'll play it. Seems like it could be a good time waster if nothing else.

Music reminds me of Crusader: No Remorse.

This reminds me of the type of game that would be on PSP when developers were trying to port big name franchises to it. Like Killzone: Liberation.

I dono, really enjoying it. Then again I really liked the first one (enough to get all the achievements on 4 platforms). I also liked renegade ops, turns out I just like dual stick shooters I guess.

If nothing else, this looks pretty meditative.

Seriously, Microsoft would make so much money if they just released halo Wars and the master Chief Collection on Steam instead of this.

Sadly I was bored of this game within 10 mins of watching this. As some else mentioned try Renegade Ops instead its a far better game if you want some top down shooting fun and its multi-player too.

Pretty much. That coupled with like -25% off or whatever would perhaps get me to try and reevaluate my position on Halo, which is "fuck Halo". Because I dunno, with the real drought of first party releases - and iconic first party releases - Microsoft has, they really need to try and tap into that PC gaming market and broaden the audience for their flagship title.

Every time I see Halo pop up on Steam I hope that it will be something good, but they only seem to release these twin stick shooters on the PC. Similar to seeing Warhammer 40k stuff on Steam and it is never Dawn of War 3.
