Repeating a boss fight is sadistically super uncool!!! I can see myself never playing this game again after beating the first level.

I gave in to the temptation and bought the game two days ago (after saying that I won't be getting it due to this QL and the pricetag) and I have to say: I was very pleasantly suprised. A friend and I beat Rising Mode together yesterday and we had a blast. The later levels are also far more interesting and more spectacular then the first 2 or 3 levels.
 
As people have stated before: if you like Contra, you will like this game.
 
I will definitely keep playing this game over and over again. It's great.

timed exclusives suck diiiiick

This game is soooo gooooood, I have played wayyyyy to much of it

I feel like this is the kind of game that's tailor-made for Japanese audiences. The checkpointing's a little rough, but I'd at least give it a try. I did like Contra, but not in the same way that a lot of other people did, so I doubt this would be a good fit for me in the end. Seems like a game you have to go into knowing you're going to rage at some point.

This game looks like about $5 bucks of fun. Not worth a penny more.

The jump at the very end is cheap, but the rest is par for the course when it comes to Contra. I've beaten the game, and it really seems to me like you guys just say it sucks because you happen to suck at playing it. It's not as unfair as you guys make it out to be. Have you ever played a Contra game before? Also that load time was ridiculously longer than usual. I've never had it load for that long on my 360. There must be something up with your system.

I beat it, good game, but yeah that load time was long for me but not that long.
