Hell yes. I NEED this.

I have brand new Triple A titles sitting in my Steam library begging to be played...and yet they're gonna have to wait for me to get this game out of my system.

Love these games. Let me guess though, gonna have to wait months for a PC version again? Or will it only be on Facebook or Kongregate again?

I don't think I will ever see the appeal of tower defence games but I an happy some good ones are being made. Especially for mobile.

Lord knows mobile gaming needs more good games.

Oh god, a new Kingdom Rush, and I barely started playing the second one... thankfully I have a ton of back episodes of Comedy Bang Bang/Bing Bong/Bean Bag to listen to. (tower defense games are second only to Binding of Isaac for podcast listening)

Kingdom Rush is just such a phenomenal tower defense game. I really hope they eventually release a Steam version of Frontiers and this one. They did a fantastic job with the vanilla PC version imo and if they released the sequels/expansions on PC I would buy them up instantly, even tho I've already played the browser version of Frontiers, the pay for everything in one go and uprezzed art were super worth it to me.

I took my chances and got both versions since I saw the upload save to iCloud. It doesn't pull the save back on the opposite device...... So all my iPhone progress didn't go to the iPad. Which means I won't play that now..

Do you really need to be afraid of getting mugged on a bus over an iPad in the US?

If they made a new Kingdom Rush every month I would buy a new Kingdom Rush every month.

Don't need to play this. It is, once again, the exact same game with some different art released under a new name.

I really liked the first Kingdom Rush, but Frontiers was just the exact same game. It's not 'new' towers, it's 'different' towers. They still do the exact same stuff, they just look different. There have different looking abilities, but they have more or less the same effect. The archer tower's ability in this one to remove magic resistance is the same as the totems in Frontiers that removed any ability, because this included magic resistance.

There is nothing wrong with enjoying to play a game again, but don't tell me anything in here is new. It's all the same as before and for this type of game: I don't really care for playing through it again. I'll pass.

Exactly my thoughts. The first and second game were both great but this series has now worn completely thin for me. At the end of my time with Frontiers I was done with the formula.

However, the second it hits some sort of $1.99 sale, my dumb ass will probably buy it anyway.

That said, you DON'T need to really "worry" about getting mugged over an iPad on the bus, as long as you're being intelligent and treating it like any other valuable (being aware of your surroundings, keeping it secure near your person)-- just as you (hopefully) wouldn't walk through a questionable neighborhood while openly wearing a bunch of loose jewelry while talking on your gold-plated cellphone.

It really was! I got to build castles!! That had no purpose. But they were castles!

And then the most fun in the game was entering random online games and running around grabbing resources and hiding them behind stuff until I got kicked.

I really liked the first one, this looks like a bit much going on at once, especially if you play it on a phone(I wouldn't). The detail and polish is a good thing, but it kinda hurts my eyes, maybe over-designed, takes away the focus from the "trails'.

I can't say as I'm much of a fan of the fixed position tower defense games, especially with limited numbers of generic towers. But I'm a huge fan of stuff like Worms and Defense Grid.

It's really annoying how all new iOS games only support iOS 7 or higher. I don't see any reason why this wouldn't be able to run on older devices, I have a iPod Touch which is only like 4 years old but I can't play any new releases because it doesn't support iOS 7 for some reason. Apple is forcing people to upgrade their device, which I'm sure everyone already realised but it's particularly annoying to me at the moment. I just wanna defend some towers.

Pixel Junk Monsters has local co-op on the PC. So, no it isn't. :(

went to app store and bought new Kingdom Rush Origins, fucking love this game.

@brad I have it on the iPhone 6 and it works just fine. You have to move around the map more but it's completely manageable. The enchanted forest was the first map I really had to swipe a lot to manage. (that faery hero SUUUUUCKS)

Brad mentioned one off towers, and in one of the early maps, there's a freaking EWOK hut!

I really hate the fact that this game comes with three ... THREE heroes even though it's a game you buy, and at launch it has double the characters available for purchase, some of which cost more than twice as much as the base game. Like, having twice as many characters available for purchase than are in the base game at the time of launch is just gross.

That's being a little unfair to the game. There is a TON of character in the designs of units, the little details around the maps, and the comic panel "cutscenes" at various points in the game. I wouldn't say that it's uninspired at all.

And yes, these games ARE amazing. I've gone through KR: Frontiers probably 6 times from start to finish, doing every objective (and without any in-app purchases). Give it a chance, you might be surprised.

Heh, I kinda had the opposite reaction. I actually like the art style in this, I just wish it was a proper RTS instead of another run-of-the-mill tower defense game.

@bill_p: The previous games were nowhere near as good as PJ Monsters, so I doubt this is the one that tops the best out there.

My interest dwindled when this series put micro-transactions in and I'm assuming that hasn't changed. Still looking forward to seeing this QL, with a tiny hope that maybe there's a version without them! .. Tiny tiny hope, so tiny... ;_;

Depends on where you're riding it. Typically, I'd say it's not something common unless you're in the more unsavory parts of town.

@49th: APIs. iOS 7 came with a ton of APIs tailored for gaming, as did 8. Unless the developer ports a version to 6 or below (which is about 5% of market share in iOS), you're probably screwed. Sorry :(

Also, the original Kingdom Rush was the only game on Kongregate I ever spent money on.
