Quick Look: LEGO The Hobbit

This is like Skyrim or Dark Souls, but for little kids, and adults who love legos. The side quests and the crafting make this, The LEGO Movie Videogame and LEGO The Lord of the Rings very unique. I know i'll be getting this on steam, and ad it to the rest of Lego games. All but LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game are available on Steam, something due to Disney owning the rights to LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game but it's pretty cheap on Amazon. Peace Duders! Loved the Quick Look.

Looks like all the rest actually, not counting the crafting stuff. Not a put down by the way, just not an IP I care about this time around.

So I've just started watching, and I'm a bit worried to find out how long they'll be spending in Bilbo's house.

I love the TT Lego games; however, they need to slow the fuck down. I haven't gotten around to Lego Lord of the Rings yet, let alone Marvel...

I thought the original trilogy was really tiring and thought both Hobbit movies were a lot better, so go figure. I especially dislike the first Lord of the Ring movie, but then again I disliked pretty much all the characters in those movies. Likewise didn't find the books especially enthralling either. From one description of a forest onto the other, back to Frodo clutching at the ring for 20 pages at a time, very quickly the book felt almost as impossibly heavy to hold as did the ring for Frodo.

This has been my small LOTR books commentary based on Brad's apparent disdain for the new Hobbit movies.

I really like Lego games, despite being very average "kid oriented" games. But they all seem to have this really big issue with having some unclear puzzles or obstacles that can fool someone into thinking the game might be bugged. At least i've run into that issue a lot.

Oakenshield and company's quest to reclaim their homeland was forgotten because everyone in Middle Earth had carpentry and masonry projects for them to do.

I recently had to re-watch the first half of the first Hobbit movie for a class recently, that that audio IS from the film. The audio in Bilbo's Hobbit Hole is a little off in places, largely due to them trying to add echo to the domed rooms.

Why was this Quick Look removed from Youtube?

I watched the first 30mins of it at work the other day, went back yesterday to watch the rest and it said it was removed by the user.

This sucks because for whatever reasons videos here on the Giant Bomb site won't play on the computer at work hence why I had to hit up Youtube.

Anyone know why?

Brad complains about the pacing. Does he realize they're just being true to the dreadfully slow pacing of the hobbit movies?

Wow, I just realized this after dozens of incarnations: I fucking hate the LEGO game franchise. Fucking hate it.

To quote my better half: "What is this? Let's play a real game!"

Always enjoy Vinny playing lego games, can't believe Brad tried to rob us of that by being neurotic about split screen. Vinny's shenanigans are what makes games like this look fun.

I wonder if it could have been flagged as using copyrighted content, by including music and voice acting from the movies?

Also, I was kinda surprised when Brad commented about how weird it was that it rained on one screen but not the other, when that was probably the most impressive part for me. All too often games do it as some global world setting rather than having it happen locally.

Maybe i missed something but what happened to the cool auto split screen aspect f the old lego games?
