Just finished the game and really enjoyed it. Definitely one of the better Portal-inspired games I've played.

Puzzle game QLs always end up a little frustrating to watch :P

Looks cool, this game.

EDIT: Also, that's not "clunky", that's fucking *physics* (or, at least, moreso than these things tend to be, which I like)

EDITEDIT: Holy shit! This is a Frogwares game?! Does Sherlock die in this one too?

I hope they do revisit this like Brad said, because I don't have a PC that could run this game, but I was left intrigued.

I think Brad and Jeff seem to cancel each other out; Jeff is great at backseat puzzle solving.

@beachthunder: How long is it?

I'm a terrible person to ask about this, I always take my sweet ass time. I'm usually twice as slow as anyone else. I took 16h; the average on How Long To Beat is 7.5h though.

If you want to know how many levels there are - there are 39 levels split over 3 acts.

This game seems like the portal sequel Valve will never make, like Nintendo which will skip games in order to make more of an impact and continually innovate without actually releasing a game. They iterate without releasing the iterations till they get far enough ahead to really seem advanced from the previous game.

Ah, if I were to play this game, that same charges attracting each other thing would bother me so much.

Thanks that helps enough I was simply curious if it's more Portal 1 length or Portal 2. Seems to be the latter.

I just get a little burned out by puzzle games after a while.

The Swapper and now Magrunner, two challenging puzzlers in a short amount of time. I've been loving it.

Did I do thaaaaaat?

I quite like the magnetic field effect, but it can be overwhelming XD

If you want to get a brain workout, buying these games is a no brainer.

I've been loving the pacing towards getting to the Cthulhu stuff, mysterious and taking its time rather than showing all their most interesting stuff at the beginning (God of War).

Also, Gamaji has a Sherlock Holmes mug. I want that!

I understand the complaint, and I had that same thought a few times throughout the game too; but honestly, I actually think it turns out much more intuitive this way.

I hope they realized that their perception of "inconsistency" with the magnetism is cause the objects have momentum to them - such that the repulsion can actually push the objects out of the sphere of influence of the magnetism.

Quantum Conundrum was a disappointment, don't bother with it. Magrunner is way cooler, and doesn't have annoying first person platforming segments. Only game that can do first person platforming is Mirror's Edge, and having platforming with physics-y stuff like in Quantum Conundrum is a nightmare. Also, characters were getting annoying in that game.

Where was the hint of this interesting thing Brad kept talking about? I was working and only half paying attention - was there more than the six-armed guy?

Hah Brad got stuck on that room for less than I did. Putting a hole beneath the two stacked platforms is a jerk move, that's the kind of thing Valve's playtesting helps weed out.

Oh right, I remember when this game was announced. They really played up the Cthulhu mythos stuff, but it seems like they don't get to it till later.

This game is basically Cabin in the Woods, then.

@bkbroiler: It's certainly much slower than Portal was, with less room for error. Changing the box you are standing on's color and then surfing it across a room is fucking madness.

I though Quantum Conundrum was pretty swell. Anyway, I can't help but feel that you haven't actually finished Magrunner, because there's a fair amount of platforming. Although, I do agree that Mirror's Edge is the only game that's done first-person platforming well - it's a huge shame that most first-person characters don't have legs :(
