Quick Look: Mortal Kombat Demo

I don't get the hate for Quan Chi. He's a better character than Shang Tsung, a more devious and powerful sorcerer, it was only because of him that Shang Tsung finally succeeding in doing anything(Tsung is the man though, don't get me wrong). I really don't get it. He has a unique look, unique moves, one of the best fatalities of all time(also one of the worst, but I can forgive that). I mean, he rips off your leg, and beats you to death with it, and just keeps going until the next match starts. How can you hate that?

Wow, some of those Fatalities are just straight murder porn but in, like, a good way.

This is probably the first game in a while which I'm going to invest the time to get competitive online with. Just pre-ordered the Tournament Edition. Awesome!

I gotta say the game looks really good and appropriately gory. It was pretty funny seeing how unrelentingly brutal the fatality and x-ray moves were.

I liked the commentary and fights were quite entertaining to observe. Really excited for this remake, will be buying it!

Might as well call this MK II: Part 2. The x-rays are cool but overdone and the fatalities are a bit overdone too. I haven't cared about MK since 2, seeing as how I was so excited for 3 and was totally disappointed, but this one seems interesting, as it looks like a remake of 2, although I'm sure (i.e. I hope) the final product will be different enough. 
 
Pressing pause during the fatality countdown and gaining access to the inputs!? That just doesn't seem right.

Looks pretty good, I haven't cared about a fighting game since like MK 2 or 3 I don't remember.

Guys, GUYS. I don't know if this has been posted yet but if you pick the stage during versus mode(Triangle during character select screen) and choose the map by pressing the start button instead of X the background music will be the klassic theme! This is legit!

I love watching people play fighting games. Shame I'm just absolutely shit at them!

Mileena can chew on this head anytime. I love how you can pause at any point and look up fatalities, and all other moves. Even a alcoholic drug addict can handle this game.

I don't often play fighting games, in fact I haven't wanted to play one since I last played Street Fighter II - years ago but watching this demo really made me want to pick up Mortal Kombat in April. Looks really fun!

I like how Mileena's thong gets ripped.
What can I say, simple pleasures, for simple men.

Watching this a third time. So hyped for this game, too bad there's no word on the 360 demo.

I wish I could see the look on our forefathers' face if they were to be resurrected today and watched this video where three guys play an electronic game in which someone slices a lady into pieces and nobody bats an eyelash. 
 
I'm not offended by it or anything, but their complete nonreaction to the fatality was hilarious.

Played the demo today, everything I hoped it would be. Can't wait to play the full game. 

So I'm not a huge fighting game fan but I played MvC3 for the first time for a couple of hours and then I downloaded this 
 
As a result this felt pretty slow and boring, but I do love the fighting system in MvC3

No, MKvsDC isn't canon, it doesn't reset the timeline. Mortal Kombat Armageddon does that. Come on Jeff, you interviewed Boon about this before.

After watching this QL again, starting to get really excited not so much for the game itself but more for the resulting TNT with this new game to see all the crazy that goes on as people are discovering things during the TNT.

I can't stop playing this demo. Brilliant. 

I can't wait for the Quick Look of the full game, with all the characters nad modes in it!  I bet the video is going to be at least 5 hours long.

I'm still not sure how i feel about this game. I played the demo a lot and it's fun but at the same time kind of simple. Maybe thats a good thing. Idk if i will ever be good at MVC3 but I could be good at this if i played Johnny Cage or Scorpion.  But MVC seems so much more interesting from the part thats the actual game, and the fanservice is nice in MVC as well.
 Portal comes out the same day as MK and my birthday is right afterwards so I'll probably get poral instead even though this does look really cool. I'm eager to see the Xbox character in MK if there is one. I'm going to have to get a better xbox controller because the Dpad was the only way I could play MK on the PS3.
