I was seriously considering getting this a game, but it seems to be almost identical to my old-ass copy of 2k09. What have they been doing all these years?

Not really playing 2K basketball, I guess. The game is extremely different in terms of how the gameplay is tweaked and the general logic of basketball.

2K13 is almost the same as this, but definitely not 2K9.

Instead of fiddling around with all those rules there should just be an NBA JAM mode.

I live in Italy, and this is apparently the inverse of their PES and Fifa Quick Looks. I have only the vaguest idea of who any of these people or teams are, and the game keeps on stopping because of weird fouls I don't recognize. Also, what's with the women in skimpy outfits running onto the court? It would be nice if they explained the sport a little bit and talked about if the game holds up or not, because to me it just looks like a bunch of people running back and forth over and over again. Probably just cultural differences.

This looks incredibly similar to 2K13. The menus changed from yellow to blue though!

I don't remember the animations in these games looking this rough in the cuts between gameplay. Maybe it's just me.

Take a simulation basketball game (or any other sports game). Make no effort whatsoever to learn how to play. Mess with a bunch of sliders and try to play like NBA Jam (or insert other arcade sports franchise here). Make the typical pronouncements about it not "feeling good." Make disparaging remarks about sports in general, especially if it's hockey or soccer. Stir all of that up and you get a GB sports Quick Look.

I only listen to real music like Macklemore, Eminem, Hospin, and Immortal Technique.

I'm not mad at all, I just think these Quick Looks have become a little predictable and formulaic. One might argue that's in parallel to the games they feature, I suppose. They used to be really funny, which offset most of the frustration, but they haven't been lately.

Hope there is some difference on the next-gen versions. This looks exactly like last year's game.

@bacongames: Mhm. I've played the 2k series since 2k11 (which happened to have the best soundtrack) and I couldn't help but involuntarily cringe during this QL. I have no problem with them poking fun at things that I like (Killer is Dead), but there was something off about this QL. It's like they were going through the motions and doing a QL just to hit some sort of content quota.

With that being said, I hope that the PS4 version of 2k14 is worth it. If I'm gonna be spending $60 for 2k13 with improved gameplay, I might as well get the prettier version.

Is it just me, or was this the funniest QL this year? Maybe it's because of how serious the game takes itself and how unintentionally funny it comes across. Vinny's commentary alone. I could definitely watch this QL again and come up with a dozen funny moments.

First of all, the classic Bulls were probably just thrown off by time traveling.

Secondly, at NC State basketball games and Hurricanes games I get a huge BBQ sandwich and wash it down with a sweet tea. If I don't get a chance to do that when I go to any of the matches, we lose. It is never failing. Also, those sandwiches are the freaking best ever. I've knocked down one with Phil Spence and David Thompson... while Tommy Burleson used me as a crutch so he could yell at the ref. Good ole NC State times.

The fact that the highlight of this year's version is a mode dedicated to stroking Lebron's massive ego is probably the most insane thing I've seen in a yearly sports title.

And it's a sports game quick look.

I would like to chime in and agree with Brad that garlic fries are legit.

Hmm, I dunno. It looks really nice, but the actual play looks slightly clunkier than the last NBA game I played, which was 2K3. That had a really nice feel to it and was only lacking for a slightly more advanced crossup control system than just "press O and a direction to do stuff". This looks like a lot of dudes bumping into each other and flailing slightly more often than they should. Hard to be sure without playing it though.
