aww man, them having to deal with 2K's terrible account system was one of the best parts of last years video! Also, this is one terrible looking PC game. That character creator looks like it belongs in a PS2 game.

It literally hasn't changed since the PS2. Like not a single bit, it's pretty amazing with all the additions elsewhere and considering they created a whole My Player mode that they haven't touched any of how it works or added or changed any hairstyles or anything.

The rest of the game looks really nice in motion (the animation and control is tops for sports games) but next gen looks like a big bump. I pray to the gods they give us a new damn player creator jesus h.

This game is a total rehash of last years version, with SHITTIER CONTROLS!

This is a total shame, I can only hope the next gen versions are better, but usually during the gen shift they include less options on the sports games of the given year =/

@brad Come to Champaign, we've got Irish Nachos. They sound slightly less Irish, bacon instead of corned beef, but they're incredible if you want to destroy yourself. Ask @patrickklepek about Murphy's Pub on campus, he was a regular there. Oh, and they have an MK2 machine, if you needed more convincing.

When you're the kind of competitor that MJ is, it's pretty easy to become an arrogant asshole. The fact that he's known as the GOAT in basketball only makes it easier.

Basketball was my jam from about '91 to '94. NBA Jam in the arcades. And that other one with the cool multiplayer cabinet I forget the name of. Jordan and Bird and Ewing. Orlando Magic Shaq.

Basketball died when Shaq traded to the Lakers. :(

Don't believe the stupid stories that people pass around as truth about pro athletes. I've heard the same rumor Brad said about MJ and it also a friends cousins dad type nonsense. That stuff is almost all completely fabricated and its always the same type of story. "So and so player did this grandstanding thing, but was a cheap fuck actually." "So and so demanded exorbitant things then displayed a massive ego".

I'm honestly surprised people believe them so readily, but then again people want to believe those things about big famous people just check out TV these days.

@Brad One of the players Jay Z represents is going to be a free agent next year and the rumours are that the starting point for the discussions with the Yankees was a 10 year 300 million dollar contract so yeah i think that might be worth Jay Z's time. Also most agents are old white men who are lawyers so he is trying to change the culture.

@giovanni: Oh, I have no doubt about that. Success affects people in different ways; some people stay the same and other change. It's the way that sort of stuff works. There are many NBA Legends/players that are totally cool people.

@kid_gloves: I can understand making a case for Kobe, LeBron, or just about any other basketball player out there, but Jordan? MJ? The guy that's infamous for being an ultra-competitive asshole that verbally abused his teammates and opponents alike? MJ might be an icon and one of the most influential people out there, but he's not a saint.

When Pippen gets the dunk and the replay started the first thing I thought of was the little girl in red from Schindler's List.

This going in blank for sports games was funny and all, but done it so many times now I'd find it refreshing to see some effort put in to it. Not asking for pro tips outta this, but learning the controls for once would be a welcome change. Would make the silly stuff easier to pull off consistently i think.

Did they come up with some new regulations about the lines on the court? It looks different than I remember.

I'm more inclined to say LeBron James made the Cavs than the other way around. But the truth is obviously somewhere in the middle, though, the Cavs invested a lot into putting competitive teams around LeBron and LeBron gave a lot to the Cavaliers. Players change teams, there are totally things to criticise about the way James went about the change, but criticising LeBron "abandoning the team who made you" is super silly.

ANYWAY, I have dedicated waay too much time writing about an off-hand remark, ultimately it was just Brad dumping on LeBron because that's what is expected you do when you talk about LeBron James, I doubt he actually believes what he said.

MJ is known as an asshole by anybody who follows basketball. Former players, former teamates, coaches, sports writers all have first hand accounts of it.

@manhattan_project: Steve Kerr got punched in the mouth by MJ, but at least he got a handful of rings for his troubles!

Probably worth mentioning that this is $30 on steam, right? And that doesn't seem to be a sale price.

I have to say this game looks real good, can't wait to see what the next gen version will look like.

I cant wait to play this....i love the that the finally have the ability to put legendary teams in the game with the actual rosters.

I may just play Larry Bird's Celtics against every team in the game.
