Quick Look: NCAA Football 14

Hearing the commentators in the game talk about football stuff makes me think "NNNNEEERRRDDDSSS!" which I guess is somewhat ironic.

hahaha, I went to Fresno State. It's such a depressing college.

Every meth joke they make is SPOT ON.

And I work downtown, where meth fiends wander around like zombies.

Happy that Giant Bomb decided to do a quick look on this game. Funny quick look! Though Jeff, one you were right, Florida State is the Seminoles and two, the bowl system will end after this upcoming season and we'll have a 4 team playoff. Don't worry, college football is getting slightly smarter.

I'm really enjoying this year's NCAA. The Infinity engine is cool, it provides a better running/blocking game than in the past, and the lack of canned animations for tackles is awesome.

That said, sometimes it looks really dumb.

Also it was incredibly enjoyable to hear the crew's commentary on Eastern Michigan's (where I'm in school) logo.

15 minutes of logo mocking. This is what I came for.

This game has some really really easy gamer score. I was able to get 710 gs and only played like 3 games and sim the rest.. LOL..

Much like Brad I went to NC State and never attended a football game.

But from what I remember from watching them on TV that performance was pretty accurate.

I prefer college football over the NFL by far. And keep slinging those generalizations, they'll really get you somewhere.

I'm going to agree with this guy. College football has been going since the 1860's where teams have loads of history and rivalries that go back a century. There's a great variety in offensive and defensive schemes that make it way more interesting to watch. Also you have the student aspect of it where there are great crowd experiences and atmospheres.

Also David Letterman and Jim Davis went to Ball State guys geez. It's basically a huge deal.

Also, college football is more fun to watch due to it being a little less conformed in offensive plays and so on. People do tend to like the school spirit over money aspect of college football, but I dunno. The entire business behind college sports is probably even more odious than any of that.

I grew up in Austin, and when I was there it was SWT, Southwest Texas State University. Still call it that just out of habit. I went to UT but left Austin in '03 moving to NYC. Lots of Longhorn alums here so it's still great to watch games. Thank you Vince Young for the greatest game I've ever been to in my life.

EA just never quite got it together this generation with football. I miss the days of competing good football games.

There are plenty dumb things about college football, but Jeff is just ignorant of it. The things he pointed out as being dumb aren't valid.

Seeing this pop up in the "on this day" bit makes me sad. Still playing NCAA Football 14.

Because sure, the NCAA is exploitative & gross but having to rebuild 1/4 of your team every year through recruiting is really a fun mechanic.
