People seem to take issue with NES Remix for what it isn't. I enjoy it in bursts for what it is. Then again, I'm a weirdo that likes Clu Clu Land. (If not for Miiverse, I never would have known how hated that game is. Good golly!)

Looks cheap. Weak Nintendo, very weak. Was expecting a bit more polish. Those backgrounds in the remixes are horrible looking. The lack of variation between the remixes is a joke. Duh, here's a great idea for a remix, make 1-1 all black... Duh....

Would be awesome if they took a few classic NES games and actually remixed them together... You know, like what the title implies.

EDIT: Agree, shouldn't have to play through boring crap to get to the "interesting" stuff.

You'd think the "I" in "remix I" would have been a big hint

I have mixed emotions. They have lots of potential here, especially with more games on the NES, SNES, GBA, etc. Hell, they could outright sell 20 game packs for $15 from the NES days and I may consider buying them over $4.99 individual games...not even as a remix. The fact that people can enjoy multiple older games that they may have never tried before is a good thing.

I think this is a good first start, and I agree with Brad at the end. I like that they just put it out, like it was a weekend project, and hopefully we see more of these with more creative implementations

It's basically Nintendo World Championships turned into a full game and for that I think it is awesome

Just rapid fire challenges to see how fast you can get it done and then the remix levels get pretty cool later on

I really dig it and hopefully they put out DLC for it that add more games like Metroid, Zelda II, SMB 2/3, Final Fantasy (some REALLY interesting and deep challenges could be done with this game if square enix is on board) and any other 3rd party games they can get permission to use

Imagine a Remix level of Final Fantasy where you have to beat Chaos with Link, Mario, Samus and DK

Also wouldn't mind seeing SNES Remix

This should be a million remixes a second, flipping between them really quick and in the same "rom save." The way this is segmented out into one-off ideas (this one is dark, this one zooms out) is soooooo slow and boring. It's like the bare minimum of work to make this anything close to fun. SNOZE FEST

i know y'all hate the words endurance run... but
seeing how unhappy jeff seemed playing this, it'd be cool to see all the remix's
it'd probably only take a day or two?

Well, Jeff seemed impossible to please in this video, so I feel pretty good about completely disregarding his opinions on this one.

This seems like a cool game to use to introduce a newer generation to NES games. I'm pretty sure it wasn't intended for jaded games industry fucks who know most of the games inside out.

What a shame that this game wasn't more. It could have been so much better. I am liking the trippy Mario Bros. camera and the Hall & Oates menu music, though.

If you didn't automatically think Nintendo would play it safe with something like this, they already 'got' you.

This doesn't seem up to the "chock full of creativity" standard I set for Nintendo products. As the human embodiment of the Nintendo Seal of Quality of course.

Jeff's expectations for this were not even remotely fair. He pretty clearly wanted it to be like a crazy busted ROM hack, except giant surprise, Nintendo wants their game to look good because they expect a lot of players may not have even played a lot of these NES games, so "the graphics are all glitched out and everything is nonsense" isn't exactly a great introduction.

I agree that the unlock progression is a little on the slow side, but I'm pretty sure this game was meant more for people who played these games not at all, or only like once or twice at a relative's house when they were young or something. I don't think the target audience is "35-year-old man who has already put hours into each of these NES games back in his early teens".
