I think I'm done with Giant Bomb. These guys have turned into the evening news. Negative, negative, negative. No energy, no enthusiasm. I supported them for a year, but I can't support this. Where is the premium content too?

Wow, I never realized but Peggle seems... rather dull. I like PvZ but there seems little skill to this.

@melodiousj: The fun of Xenoblade is playing an MMO style Rpg all by yourself.......... As sad as that sounds.

Wait what? Over this? It's Peggle 2. It looks dull and safe. What would you want them to be enthusiastic about?

This game is SO DAMN FUN. For those saying it's "boring," I dare you to give it a play and not be entertained and sucked in.

On the gameclips stuff, at least these new consoles seem perfect for what Alexis wished for during a recent UPF (or if it was the Extra Life streams) - games showing gameplay during the end credits.

"Video games are weird!" would be the best back of the box quote if this game had one.

Jeff seems noticeably down on most games of late, hopefully some great stuff starts coming out to re-ignite his interest.

So are there leaderboards for this game? Cause I've read from a few sources that this game doesn't have leaderboards...

How does a score-based game NOT have leaderboards in 2013 on Xbox Live? Surely they have the capacity with the 300,000 servers... No excuse and the auto recorded game clips are garbage.

How is this game in this state when it's a (timed) exclusive? I get the feeling Microsoft really did throw money at EA just to have it first but didn't bother to actually make sure it was flawless...

And how does the framerate chug on Peggle?!

I'm really curious to see how the other versions turn out (PS4 in particular)

The multiplayer framedrop comes from having to rush-code the displays of other players in.

Obviously it's starting the video mid-shot, so people can't copy the shot and get the same score DUH :)

Of course it's more Peggle. Why fuck up what was already perfect?

Good question. Yet somehow, they've done it.

Peggle is a skill based game, where all the skill is in choosing the right shot and precisely aiming the ball. I've spent a looooooooooooooooot of time playing Peggle and Peggle Nights on everything from my PC to my phone, even the terrible DS port.

But Peggle 2, I don't want it. The art design changes they've made were all bad. The new characters and their powers both seem dumb. Joining multiplayer games in progress is just irrational. The "Coming Soon" shopping cart does not portend anything good. The video points out the problem with the shot recording, so I won't repeat it here.

Ultimately PopCap took what I thought was one of the best games ever made and fucked it up in every way they possibly could. So, count me out.

I never quite got the appeal of Peggle. Shame people are down on this one though. Lots of people seemed excited when this got announced.

Also I don't know how I feel about Peggle content in which Drew doesn't sing about Peggle Nights.

Peggle is a terrible game. I've never gotten why it gets any traction or audience outside of the Farmville crowd. If all PopCap can do is reskin old games then EA should give them Tetris. At least there'd be a good game underneath all the crust, fluff and repulsive 'personality'.

I wouldn't call it terrible - it was just sort of a mindless diversion for me - but I definitely don't get why it attained the level of "gaming crack" for some people.

Like Jeff said - beyond two bounces (occasionally MAYBE three), the game is just all luck. It's hard to get into a game long term, when you just sort of watch it play itself.

The type of slowdown they encountered in MP, leads me to believe it was probably an issue with the netcode, and how it handles sluggish connections. Still a good question, as to how it could be released like that.

The modern consoles have more than enough power to run four Peggle screens at once - something people should be able to recognize regardless of whatever brand they swear fealty to.
