Surprised to hear Jennifer Hale in this game.

I kickstarted this game but since I chose the PC version over mobile (since I abhor mobile gaming) I think it will be a while since I end up playing this.

@alnor58 : David Hayter is in the game as well. Both of those voice actors were a big part of the Kickstarter marketing.

What's up with the framerate whenever it has an angle that shows that girl's face close-up? Is that intended or what?

Nope, we address it a couple times in the video, but unfortunately using the HDMI out on the iPad causes the frame rate to take a dive occasionally in most games. Game runs fine in normal circumstances.

I'm pretty sure that "Jose Sanchez" guy in the video, is actually a gaming correspondent for "Reviews on the Run" - that show hosted by Victor Lucas. His real nickname is "Fubar", and I notice his alias is "Don Fubar" in the game.

@scotto: I noticed that too. I remember hearing on the podcast that he went to a Bears game with Patrick I think.

It is fifteen bucks for epsiodes 2-5, that is at least what the menu says when you were in it :)

Awesome! I can play this on my Surface Pro. Thanks for the heads up on this one GB. There'll be no touch controls though... will be interesting to see how this plays with keys and mouse/pad.

Also it seems that extreme face closeups and details in the eyes is becoming more common after Far Cry 3 mastered it.

Is it sad that the quicklook made me less excited for a game I quicklooked. The Atari cartridge stuff and the "hey, give us extra money" stuff kind of grosses me out.

Just got an iPhone 5 and was thinking about picking this up! Does the game chug at all on iPhones? Would I have to repurchase it on an iPad in the future if i got one?

This game sort of reminds me of Lifeline; just without the voice commands.

@sammo21: Welp at first I thought it was an overreaction, but the game does push it's luck a bit. Kinda shameless.

Not a fan of this kind of business model they are sporting here. Specially for a developer that was banking on that kind of "we're here to save videogames" good will during their kickstarter advertisement.

I love the neon shoulder stripes.. they really spruce up those military uniforms.

Game seems rather cool in concept, yep... It seems to have a lot of the kojima "this is serious but also FART" humor. Which.. I appreciated at some point in my younger years.

But accents seem all over the place, and the plot looks a bit tinfoil hat paranoia, but I still backed it on kickstarter.. too bad that for non US citizens they required you to purchase it and hit them for a refund, which I never did. But when pc version comes out I might give it a try.

@gasparnolasco: Yeah, that's kind of where I was coming. During the development cycle I've listened to all of their lengthy developer podcasts and I don't once remember hearing them talk about some of this stuff. Ryan was even on 8-4 a few times and never mentioned it.

For a game that tries so hard to place you into the world, it annoys me that there is no justification for her knowing where and when to go.

Oof, the writing in this is kind of bad. I like the novel gameplay (perhaps inspided by Experience 112, from the crazy folks at Lexis Numérique - it feels like a great fit for a touch device) and the cliched setting still feels fresh compared to what else is out there right now.

Why does Cooper use text to voice to hide his identity, but it shows his face on the caller ID?

I backed Republique; I'm still waiting for my PC version. I understand they decided to focus on the iPad/tablet version first, which I guess is ok so long as they properly dedicate themselves to a good PC version.

This is making me want to play Uplink again...

I can't tell if they recognized the "cartoon" kickstarter backer as one of the guys from Penny Arcade. It still breaks immersion but at least it makes a little more sense why they'd do that.

That was the title of the game I was looking for. Experience 112 was way better and less contrived though.

Wait, so we're turning ads for other games into collectibles now? I don't like all this breaking of the 4th wall. And wouldn't we all rather collectibles that give some insight into the story, not be jokey ads for other games I guess the dev likes? Really weird.

Fuck this game just because how incessant their kickstarter spamming was. It was fucking gross and nonstop. Glad the game turned out to be a pile of crap.

Fifteen minutes in and there's some super cognitive dissonance going on with the dialogue, actions and gameplay concepts. I understand the points but not the means to get there.

Not a fan of the writing in this game. Especially that one guy.

Regarding the cartridge versions of other iOS games. The developer has stated this was done with permission of the makers of those games, I do not believe they are paid for ads. Rather they put in games that they love on the platform, in the hope of introducing them to people. Hence the commentary that each game is presented with, that is in essence the dev teams commentary about each game.

I mostly agree but any collectible that is the form of an Atari 2600 cartridge gets my approval. Too bad they weren't actual 2600 games or even fictitious games.

I like collectibles so they do not necessarily always need to have some sort of story hook to them but they shouldn't just be mindless garbage (kinda like the ones in this game). In saying that, collectibles that have some sort of narrative tie-in or payoff are always the best (like the audio logs in the Bioshock games).

American actors doing bad foreign accents - Check

Smarmy title - Check

10 minute long cutscenes - Check

The premise seems interesting enough but I'm finding it really hard to keep myself interested in the game.

This game doesn't look good at all. Yuck.

Contrary to what Brad says at the very end of the QL the game is supported on iPhones. I'm not much of a mobile gamer but I would also say that it is remarkably playable on the iphone screen as well. It gets pretty framey on my iPhone 4S though.

They should hire more people to watch those security cameras.

Getting kind of a Person of Interest-vibe from this. As if we were playing as The Machine.
