Quick Look: Rise of Flight

This was one badass quicklook.

this game seems to be a great balance between Sim and Arcade. Obviously leaning way more on the sim side.

I feel like Drew, Dave, and Vinny are gonna disappear one day and just go flying around the world haha.

I don't remember if i chimed in on this QL. Just wanted to say i'm loving them as a long time fan of flight sims. I've had my eye on Rise of Flight for a long time but this QL reminded me of it. So i DLed the demo and if all's well i'll buy the packaged upgrade.

Also the amount of comments in these QLs speak for themselves. The people love it and i think an IL2 Sturmovik Co-op hardcore survival run is a series that should happen.

Fantastic way to mark the 1000th Quick Look! Also for anyone interested FreeTrackNoIR is freeware that does the same as track IR but just uses your webcam and tracks your face. It takes a bit of setting up but works a treat.

The TrackIR seems pretty cool and I might get into RoF sometime soon.

Also that was a damn fine job on the bombing run. I have to admit I cheered and clapped my hands when you guys hit the boat. xD

Man! This week has been replete with DDV videos! Awesome, this should totally by an annual thing; we could call it: Snidrewvella Week!

Went and played a little bit of this, man is it difficult to machine gun ground targets. I'm in that part of the tutorial campaign and I've failed at least 6 times. Being a WW1 fighter pilot was damn hard, no heat seeking missiles here.

The tutorial dialogue is hilarious though. The voiceactor for the teacher and the student are the same damn person, and only sometimes does the VO actually try to disguise this in amusing ways. The dialogue feels Russian made as well (which I assume it is?), a lot of odd conversation bits.

Still though, it's a very well made product. It's already held my attention much more than Microsoft Flight ever did (I assume a quicklook on that is in the works, but it's almost too user friendly for a traditional flight sim quicklook).

Hahaha, Dave's bland "hey, so this has become, like, a thing" made me laugh out loud. It may have been because it was sandwiched between Drew saying "Hey Vinny!" all happy-like and then "Yup!" after Dave's remark.

Edit: Vinny called this their own little flight club?

Love these flight sims quick looks. Gives me a good look at the sims without having to learn them or pay a lot of dough for flight sticks and shit.

I love the idea of Vinny and Dave just sitting in the back of a fighter plane going "Get him!!" Best QL of the year!

This looks really awesome I love the track IR ...i really want one of these things. So awesome... every game needs to use it.... even FPS's

You don't literally turn 180 degrees. The Track IR exaggerates your movement so you only have to turn a small amount, and the sensitivity can be adjusted with the software.

I don't own one but, damn these guys are making me want one so bad!

I'm seriously loving these Vinny, Drew, Dave combo videos as I really love the same type of PC games.

Also sharing their moments. Flying under that bridge in microsoft flight or actually getting that bomb to hit in this video. It's so great lol

This was awesome. I'm downloading ROF right now because of this quick look. I know I'm going to be horrible but looks so amazing. Reminded me of the kind of thrill I got playing Lucas Arts Battlehawks 1942 on my Amiga as a kid.
