I lasted about 2 minutes into the Quick Look, that rotating camera was making my motion sickness flare up.

I always wondered if that's purely the UI or if there was something lost in localization. Like if the design works as intended with Japanese characters, but then this alien text and kerning screws everything up.

Edit: I don't think text affects health bars...

UI seems bad, but man, that camera was making me feel sick - first time ever a game has done that to me. Granted I'm a little ill today so I might be in a compromised state.

This reminds me a LOT of Phantom Dust.

Assigning skills with puzzle blocks you have to cram into a square is way better than cards. Looks cool.

I was getting disappointed by the false advertisement of Gundam talk, and then I reached the end of the video, and man.

@austin_walker Opinions on Turn A and Unicorn? Also, there's totally a Zeta Plus model sitting on the desk of one of the guys at Atlus USA.

The camera itself just seems par for the course for that type of game. I remember my girlfriend showing me Gundam Vs for the first time and I was simultaneously confused at what was going on, and feeling a little motion sick.

Whatever guys, Gundam Wing was awesome. It was overdramatic and terrible almost constantly, but still awesome.

I have a weird soft-spot for Wing's antagonists (and the political drama in general), but I really, really wish the action wasn't so high powered.

@austin_walker: Whats your opinion on 00 since it was mainly a redo of wing only better...... until the second season started.

@austin_walker: If you like gundam to be a bit more grounded, i highly recommend Turn A Gundam. The robot design doesn't look as cool as the other series but the story and music is probably one of the better Gundam stories out there.

I think we can all agree G Gundam is without a doubt the best Gundam series.

@kenpachiramasama: I think I liked it more than Wing (though I never really cared for the antagonists). It felt like a much "tigheter" show than Wing, way less re-used footage in the action scenes, and it hit a more interesting power level curve for me.

I also tend to be curious about any pop-culture work that tries to interrogate or react to 9/11 and the post-9/11 era, and it was really interesting seeing how a Gundam show did that.

At the end of the day I'm an (early) UC guy, though. My ranking (for what it's worth) Unicorn (Only if you've watched everything else) > 0080 > 08th > MSG = Zeta > CCA (and read > as "very very very slightly better than"). Never finished ZZ. 0083 is great on paper, less good in execution.

Lots of blindspots for my Gundam fandom still: Need to watch Victory, X, & Turn A. Not up to date on Build Fighters. Only watching G-Reco now, and I'm really liking it!

@austin_walker: Build fighters is something that should be watched after all the other stuff since is basically just fanfiction and gunpla pandering. You got some good stuff ahead though.

@austin_walker Yesssss, 08th MS Team is probably my favorite Gundam series. It's short, but concise! Dat RX-79(G) Ez-8! <3 I do like Wing a lot though, I think I was the right age for it, and it's a little more flashy, probably as a response to stuff like DBZ being extremely popular at the time.

We need to get Austin and Jason in a room together.

I can't help it, I love, love, LOVE the designs in G Gundam.

@deathmetaldan: Yeah, that's definitely it! I was also right at the age for it. It was my intro, but I quickly found UC stuff and that got its claws into me.

I never went full-blown Gundam fan and I couldn't even tell you how many years it's been since I caught an episode of any series but just bringing up 08th MS team gets me excited. I always wished there was more stuff like it and maybe there is but I've never found something that involved mechs and also felt grounded in some form of reality.

Austin sharing that belief makes me hopeful those opinions weren't just being easily impressed as a teen.

So I must have missed something either at E3 or before then? Is Austin officially a part of GB now working out there with Vinny and Alex? Cuz that's pretty cool!

In any event, this is a pretty fun game but the population is horrible already unfortunately.

All this Gundam talk is making me sad. Not because I don't love most of them (I do), but because I have so many of those damn models that I'll probably never build at this point.

So, uh, @austin_walker, you want some MG models in an upcoming mailbag? I don't know what the hell else to do with them besides Ebay or something and it would be nice to see them go somewhere that they'll be appreciated (assuming you have time to build them of course).
