I gotta admit. Sonic games are not my favorite platformers.

This was the most interesting Quick Look in a good long while for me, and not because of the game. I love these crazy anecdotal stories about the video game industry that the guys will occasionally trot out, and I want more of them.

That's usually why I just leave a TNT or other random long video just play in the background sometimes.  Once they lose interest in the game, they'll start talking about console launches (like in Breaking Brad: Geometry Wars) or trips or something.  Interesting stuff.

Sonic CD is monstrously overrated, in any form, with any soundtrack, on any platform. The game is trash, but somehow unjustly beloved.

A couple BitMob articles on the topic:

http://bitmob.com/articles/sonic-cd-why-so-beloved

http://bitmob.com/articles/levels-of-shame-sonic-cd

Are those links supposed to be incontrovertible proof? It sounds like another guy's opinion, just like yours.

Great Quick Look! I knew about most of the Sega Genesis variations, but I've never heard of the Mega Drive Jet.

Sonic 1, 2, 3 and Sonic & Knuckles were all way better. (At least in terms of music and level design.)
