Breaking News: Giant Bomb guys unimpressed by a thing. IMO it's pure joy and super fun to mess around with. It's not like anything super groundbreaking but I'm not sure they ever implied it would be?

Hahaha Having watched it 15 minutes later- The apathetic looks on their faces says it all. But of course by the end they are apologizing for it and making excuses for a lackluster Mario game.

I know it's useless to harp on this and it's something that should be ignored, but in the same comments page there's someone who is angry at GB for disliking the game, and another one who is angry at them because they make excuses for it.

Some people's preconceptions and interpretation of human behavior is astounding.

If by the time it gets on android it is still an online only game I won't even give it a try. Hopefully Nintendo will add more content for people who already bought it. They've been pretty good about post launch content with stuff like Splatoon.

$10 huh. At least it doesn't have energy meters and all that garbage.

I get why this is kinda a big deal, but the amount of coverage this is getting from every site on the planet is insane. 15 minute video is more than enough to know everything there is about this "okay" game.

Let me know when they put a proper Animal Crossing on phones and i'll start paying attention to Nintendo's mobile stuff.

Just be flexible enough to separate yourselves from brands you have an affinity/fandom for & be able to call something out when you see it. I'm an Assassin's Creed mark to the core, but will 100% agree that some of those games were the drizzling shits (Revelations & AC 3).

Played it, got bored after 10 mins, mobile games continue to suck.

Early build? How long ago was this recorded?

Can't watch the video right now but played about six levels at lunch. It feels off. I'm on an iPhone 7 and it just does not feel as responsive as it needs to be. There is a noticeable delay between presses to jump/action. The range of action to grab a ledge, parkour over an enemy feels far too large to make up for that delayed response. A few times I tried to wall-jump but found Mario stuck to the ledge when he should have easily jumped.

But i'll be honest, I am biased. I have not liked any of the modern runners. It is just not something I enjoy.

I'll wait until they give us a proper Picross phone game. Something really meant for a mobile experience. Then i'll be really excited.

Because it's Nintendo, and Nintendo could announce an empty cardboard box with a Mario sticker on it and 90% of the internet would act like it's the greatest thing ever made.

10 bucks seems a bit much for how many levels there are.
But i guess they can add them or something.

Still going to check out the free trial when ever it hits Android tho.

Dude.... What video are you watching?

I'm gonna go against the grain here. I think it's pretty cool. Each coin level adds more stuff in each course. The amount of moves there are with just a button press is pretty impressive, and the gameplay feels more like puzzle-solving than platforming. I look forward to hearing what Patrick over at Waypoint has to say about it. He seems to understand this sort of thing.

i havent liked mario since super mario world i think people should move on because the games havent been fun in 20 years even shantae is better than mario by a thousand percent
