I'm no graphics whore, but I can't get into the look of this game AT ALL. I think that's what keeps me from spending more time with the iOS version than I have, which is like 10 minutes.

I love this game on my iPhone.

Oh god, the soundtrack in this is so good. Jim Gunthrie actually gave me permission to use the music for my podcast, super thankful for that.

Totally worth it just for the soundtrack. Games neat, but I've had the soundtrack on loop all week since picking it up.

the triangle boss in this game reminds me of the forest temple boss in ocarina of time, the part where you have to hit the lightning with the sword and bounce it back. don't really remember the shield part patrick refers to.

This game is good but I think Patrick gets a little hyperbolic about it. Something about mobile games makes Patrick reach new levels of hyperbole.

There actually is more spoken dialogue in this game... You just need to take some time to stop and talk to him. =)

Yeah, it surprised me how much Patrick adores this game. Nice music but ehhhh. The snippets of text in particular are crap.

I like the music, I never finished this game on ios though, it wasn't actually particularly amazing or anything. Kinda funny and the art was neat, but as a game ... not much. Not sure what gets patrick so worked up. Maybe because its some kinda super indie thing.

*Warning Spoiler* This games event are based on real Time phases. Starting the game in the dark moon phase could result not getting 100% completion, you will have to start a new game (game is roughly 4hrs long). Not sure if it is a problem for all but for me it was a major bummer to have start over for some thing I was completely unaware of from the start.

As someone who hasn't played this, didn't really feel like playing it after the quick look, felt like Patrick was overselling it.

I may just have to reset my cleared game on my iPad and play it again.

I've been playing this since saturday I think, the sounds and music in this game are neat, but the dialogue at times is really cringe worthy.

See, what Patrick doesn't fully explain in this is you can examine a lot of stuff and so there is more text dialogue, but it often evokes a very "internet slang" feel. It really takes you out of it if your like me. I think the game is creative, but the dialogue is so awful. I realize it's trying to be cute (and the meta nature is kinda cool) but they could've gone a different route with it so its not so in your face.

Mechanically the game is sound, and I didn't know when I got it but ya it feels like a touch screen game. This doesn't hamper the game to much, I enjoy some of the design decisions- not so much the dialogue- and the music and sound is pretty fantastic.

Next time, though, if they want me to get one of their games again I'm gonna have to ask they leave out the childish lingo. It's not helping the story for me, or maybe I'm just getting old I don't know haha

Happy with my ipad version, but if you never played this game, then you should really check this game out.

Wow, buying this as soon as I get an iOS device.

Really like this game. Soundtrack is excellent and gameplay is reasonable, but it's really beautiful to boot. Dialogue isn't very good but I'm willing to run with it: It's kind of nudge-nudge wink, wink, but I'm ok with it.

Sometimes I feel like the only person who bought this the day it came out on iOS, played it for a few hours, and just did not have very much fun. The style is amazing, no doubt about it, but playing it just didn't click with me.

Save some time and just buy the soundtrack.

i'de like to play this. but i want it on a system i can actually play it on. seeing as i object to buying a new machine every year i'm still using an iphone 3S and i hate playing games on it. i'de be interested on PC but my computer hates running games and i use it while playing games.

if it was on Vita though, i think that would be perfect. it would look great. the touch controls would remain (as well as a possible use of sticks for those of us that hate touching the screen) and i could run it without having to compromise my other activities like playing on a phone or computer does.

@nan0fear: same thing happened to me, really sucked cause not only did I not realize it but once I did there was still no way to avoid "cheating". I think Patrick really oversold this game too, no way was this worthy to compete in best downloadable game or whatever last year. It was decent for the 5 bucks I spent but not a great value.

Every pixel, every line of text, every sound screams "HIPSTEEEEERRRRR!!!" at my ears.

Still, it's such an amazing experience.

You're not, I think some of the games media (especially the poseur-ish types like Patrick and Kieron Gillen who love an indie game with high thematic ideas) love it, but as you can see from the comments on here, many normal gamers don't like it very much.

I've been baffled by Patrick's overselling of it ever since it inexplicably showed up in his GOTY suggestions.

Did Patrick really not know about all the spoken dialogue that comes from sitting down with Logfella under the square arch? I'd imagine since he was so hype about the game and all of its content that he would have shown off some of those conversations.

I bought the game on my iPod Touch when it first came out and I haven't touched it yet. There's no excuse for me not playing it!

Isn't Robert Astley in a band with the guy who did the music for this game?

This looks... incredibly boring.

Not every game has to fit the mold of a tradition game.

We don't always need guns and intense graphics and two sticks. This game goes for something very different in every way from control, to storytelling, to music, and that's something worth respecting. I can imagine people not connecting with the writing, but it certainly isn't by any means bad.

I loved this game. It deserves the praise it's been given.

Are Patrick's black fame glasses and suspenders on order? ;) I mean that as a friendly jest, I like Patrick, but yeah, not Sword & Sworcery.

I can't stand the dialog and general tone. "We had bridged the chasm & we felt super smart." Ugh. At what point does it say, "Let me show you how self-aware of being a video game I am; me & my creators are super awesome because of it"?
