Never played a King of Fighters game before, but my friend described it as: "Street Fighter only fun" so I'll try it out. I really wanted to get into Street Fighter 4 but the combo system and control (I've a feeling an arcade stick could've improved that) was way to hard for me.

Wow, I love fighting games but never got into this series.  But the art style in this game is just insane.  Looks incredibly slick, for a 2D game it doesn't look flat at all.

2D games must rise again. It looks so good. Probably more time consuming to make but with the next generation 3D games, it will be costy, I hope some companies revise the ideas of 2D. 2D has so much personality!

Transgender just not good enough, no matter it`s the first time Iv`e ever seen it, this or most any game!

 I loved the background also, but after a while, they are all doing the same repetitive thing. Well, it is a fighting game, and thats ultimately where one ends up.

this game cant come out soon enough. i hear its been pushed back to august though? :(

for anyone whos not sure, kof 1-10 are 94-03, available in various forms on neogeo, psx, saturn, dreamcast, ps2, xbox, wii, and so on. after 03 there were some naming mixups and the game didnt really follow the annual release schedule which lead to the numbering scheme. xi is the next 2d game in the series, on atomiswave and ps2, followed by xii. where it gets messy is neowave, a 2d dream match which is on aw, ps2, and xbox, came out around the same time as 03; it was kof's debut on the aw hardware. then theres the 3d kof:mi, which had a sequel mi2, which was released as 2006 in america, which can lead to the most confusion. not to mention kof 98 ultimate match, a rerelease of 98 on type x and i believe ps2 and soon xbla, along with kof 02 unlimited match, again on ps2 and possibly xbla soon.

also digging the super jacked look most of the fighters have. its very real bout esque. anyone who thinks terry looks odd hasnt played terry's own game!

Good quick look.  I'm a King of Fighters fan and I'm definately looking forward to this game, but Street Fighter 4 was pretty awesome and it's hard for me to say if the KoF fighting system update from 11 to 12 will be as significant as the changes from SF 3(or even 2) to 4.  But do you know what the must-play mode will be regardless of the fighting game? VERSUS!  I can't help but wonder why Ryan didnt, at any point in the 18-minute quick look, pick up a second controller and throw down a few rounds with Jeff.  Fighting games should always be about how enjoyable it feels to play on versus.  Little disappointed but whatever.  Keep the quick looks comin' dudes.

I'm more excited for BlazBlue than this, but I'll pick it up at some point.

Got to say, not many characters to choose from; a lot less than most of the other games. =/

EDIT: 30? Hmm, guess I just couldn't see that many there...
EDIT AGAIN: Um, think they need to fix that insane background animated GIF speed when you win and does the whole world have something against the French??!
EDIT THAT I JUST HAD TO COME BACK TO ADD: OK, considering they've made all new sprites I guess 20 (not 30) characters is a good number plus there's two more for the consoles. OK, now I'm going......

This games graphics look awesome. The backgrounds look beautiful and the animations all look stellar. Too bad I hate fighting games :[

I'd like to see a Raiden crossover battle royale. Raiden from King Of Fighters vs. Raiden from Mortal Kombat vs. Raiden from Metal Gear vs. a fighter jet from Raiden to determine which is the greatest Raiden of them all.
