Wasn't Hershel in the first game? Re: Alex talking about the game using characters from the comic or series.

BTW the TV Show got SO much better after season 3, in part due to the new show-runner, Scott Gimple. In fact the reason the quality dipped in the first place is kind of AMC's fault. They had a dispute with original show-runner Frank Darabont leading to his firing, a bunch of the actors who were there because of him wanted to leave, some of the writers left, the budget was slashed and the number of episodes increased hugely leading to repetitive story arcs and lack of locations (Season 2's farm and season 3's prison).

as dumb as it sounds it really bummed me out they only included bronze trophies in this game and all its chapters. Really cheap.

@sammo21: Trophies existing at all in a story focused game like this is a little odd, especially as they are only rewarded for progressing.

Gotta correct Alex on two things. A) It's more like Mih-SHOWN not Mih-SHAWN.

B) This takes place after she meets up with the main Walking Dead group, but for a period where she had separated from main group.
"The Walking Dead: Michonne – A Telltale Miniseries stars the iconic, blade-wielding character made famous by Robert Kirkman’s best-selling comic books. The story explores the period in the comic book timeline where Michonne leaves Rick, their group, and her katana behind, in order to deal with emotional demons from her past. Players will discover what took Michonne away from her trusted allies, and what brought her back to them."

@jeverage: @zolroyce:

Yep, my bad on this one. Totally forgot about both Hershel and Glenn. My memory's not so great, I guess.

As for the time period, also my bad. I was just going off the fact that it's a totally separate group and her not having her usual weapon (plus her not mentioning anywhere that she was previously with another group), but I guess I borked that up.

Ah, a flashback to the early days of GBEAST (as in, like, last year), when it was just Vinny and Alex playing Steam games and trying to remember what that Korn album was.

Wait a second, are they going to try to loop this around and say Michonne is Clem's mom?

Just a wild guess but I can see them trying to tie this into the orginal games cannon and judging by the quality of the writing so far in this first episode. It wouldn't really surprise me

This quick look highlights a small issue you guys have. It has become pretty frequent that quick looks are lacking key information like release date, or how much it costs. I know all those things are a google search away. That makes it all the more annoying, like you don't put forth the effort to make that simple search. Just feels kind of sloppy to me. This one in particular... a lot of misinformation. Okay that you aren't fans of the comic, but the cavalier, "I don't know, I don't care," explanation makes me feel like I am wasting the money I play for my premium membership. Not to mention it hardly does the games you look at justice.

This is coming from a huge GB fan, and a big Alex fan in particular. Just giving some constructive criticism. (definitely something the community here is not down with. Any time I say something that could be remotely taken as a critique of the dudes, I get slapped.)

The Batman series is probably going to be the closest we'll get to another TWAU. I'm optimistic about it.

The one thing that bothers me and pulls me out of the experience in the last season and now this is that the WD team only has three facial expressions, The Walking Dead snear, Open mouth shocked and a weird smile. Game of Thrones also suffered from this. :(

Tales From the Borderlands not your thing? That's the best work they've done in my opinion.

I like the Walking Dead games their fine, the show is hit or miss for sure, and the comic is at a least slightly above average for its genera.

But, I really think I'm a bit bored with these Walking Dead games, it all well and good to play as characters who are in the thick of it....but I'm actually TIRED of only survivor stories. I want something form the shadowy Government/Military perspective. Or from the perspective of someone working at last laboratory on a cure. Or from the perspective of some other group somewhere else on earth.

Yeah, unfortunately Kirkman seems dead set on there being no larger picture or hope at the end of the tunnel. I checked out after it became clear there would just be a cycle of meeting new people, conflict, dust settling, big bad, major deaths, exodus, repeat. I can't really fault that MO since that could be viewed as a take that on major comic companies and their practices, but at least there the resting state is generally upbeat.

Someone else said it and I can't recall where, but a West Wing type show but in a miniseries format detailing the President's response to the rapidly deteriorating situation would be cool. A series of miniseries detailing what you are talking about would be fascinating really. One set in the Pasteur Institute with scientists that stayed at their posts looking for a cure, I wouldn't mind following a black ops team for another. Heck a Nebraska team, with wide open spaces, lots of armed folks, but with a sometimes harsh winter to have to prepare for might be an interesting change of pace.

The only Walking Dead stuff I care about is Clementine's story. I really did try to get into the comics and the TV show, but there's just something about Clementine's story arc that elevates it beyond your standard zombie apocalypse fare. I don't think I'll be playing this - I just don't care at all about the TV show and comic book characters.

I'll echo what others have said - bring back The Wolf Among Us. What an amazing setting. I'd much rather have that than 'Lady What Kills Zombies With Swords - A Telltale Games Adventure'.
