Quick Look: Toejam & Earl

To me Toejam&Earl appear to be a game best enjoyed if high on nostalgia. The same kind of nostalgia I have for Moonstone, and a heap of other Amiga games, I guess.

I sure remember this funky music very well....and I played the first game to death with my friend. Not sure if I ever gave the sequel a try, or if I just read about it years later. But...I gotta say, I'm not sure if I ever figured out exactly what I was suppose to do in the game. Still had tons of fun, though!

Interesting. I have no prior experience with the game other than the GB coverage. Fantastic to see Drew appearing in more QLs, TNT and such. I think he's an excellent addition to the regular rotation wherever that's logistically possible. Very valuable perspectives that fit well with the rest of the crew.

As someone who had peripherally heard about TJ&E as a roguelike or a roguelikelike, it's pretty crazy to see that it totally is, down to item identification and stuff. Crazy!

Man, I am so glad to see that I'm not the only person who loves Panic on Funkotron. Mostly 'cause I like the environments more, but also 'cause I'm an immature jerk who thinks that a being called Lamont the Funkopotamus is hilarious. Would totally shell out for a TJ&E 1+2 soundtrack though, those tunes are da bomb.

I loved the first TJ&E, everything after it was terrible... so much squandered potential. :(

Another proud member of the ToeJam and Earl 2 defense force here. And "Panic on Funkotron" is video game titling at its very best.
