i think someone needs to make a concept page for games that use an airplane as your base of operations, i feel like there have been alot recently.

also the nuke from orbit dude sounds mega like the voice actor for Adam Jensen from Deus Ex:HR. If that's the same guy its kinda weird to hear that gravely voice go beyond like a mumble

Yep, it's more CSI with assassinations. And somehow as time goes by Sam keeps getting younger.

I got the Freedom Edition of this. If anyone is wondering; the statue is very good. It doesn't feel as cheap as, say, the Adam Jensen figure in the Deus Ex Collector's Edition, or the Far Cry 3 Vaas bobblehead, or the Borderlands 2 Marcus bobblehead (those are the only ones I can compare them with). It's the best out of all of those. It's pretty big too. Somewhat bigger than the Adam Jensen figure.

Also, the comic; I haven't read it yet, but the quality is great. Thick cover, a lot of pages. There is a steel case for the game, but get this, the standard boxed game is also included. So you get the shelf game and the steel case is there in the package if you want. I thought that was really cool. Weird thing is, the steel case can clearly hold 3 discs, while there are only 2 discs included (360 version).

Lastly the carton box it comes in is thick and feels sturdy. I haven't messed around with any of the ingame stuff yet though. I feel that's cheating on a first run.

Also note, the second disc is (as far as I can tell) an HD Texture Pack that you can (but probably will) install. It took pretty long for me. Over 20 minutes. I haven't played the game without it, but the game looks great overall.

Also, you guys, this game is so awesome. I never truly understood why people hated the direction Splinter Cell took all those years ago. I get that Double Agent maybe wasn't that great, but I thought Conviction was pretty good. Either way, the game is pretty challenging. I'm having a harder time with it than I did with Chaos Theory, but then I did play that on the normal setting I believe and I'm playing this on Realistic.

A much wanted feature is back: picking up bodies and dropping them where-ever. On Realistic you cannot use execute very often. If you are a 'hardcore' player, there is also a Perfectionist mode where you cannot use execute at all, cannot use sonar goggles and cannot resupply ammunition during missions. I'm guessing you 'old school' guys should play that mode. And really... you should play it. The game is really great. I'm not playing it on Perfectionist because I don't like the whole 'get spotted? Reload checkpoint' mechanic. Realistic is offering a good challenge without getting frustrating for me.

Watching Jeff play a stealth game like this is painful.

Watching the game accommodate to his playstyle is even more painful.

Ubi really messed up the voice of Sam. He pretty much made the early games for me so I might wait for the price to drop for this one.

I like the new voice. He comes across as cool and collected, as Sam Fisher should.

It is the same voice actor, he also did the voice of the same character in Conviction.

PS. Lol at all the people who havent played it saying its crap, its actually pretty challenging too.

This has been getting really good reviews, and I didn't know it had classic 2v2 spies v mercs. I'll pick it up in a steam sale at some point. Even though I love the first 3 games, and the Xbox 1 version of Double Agent, I also thought Conviction was alright. We aren't going to get the kind of pure stealth games the original trilogy were anymore, apparently. I guess they don't sell well, or people in the industry don't think people want them, I dunno.

Why is that bad? You could still play ghost and try to sneak past/knock out everyone. I've been playing like that and it's awesome. You really have to pay attention to routes and know the guards' lines of sight.

I've played and finished every console Splinter Cell game but I'm not in a rush for this game. I guess its the draw of GTA V being so close that is making me save my money. I could rent it I suppose.....Giant Bomb Quick Looks - the place to cogitate on rent or buy :D

The fact that Sarah and Sam sound like they are the same age now is reaaaally uncomfortable. This game bums me out so much, because gameplay-wise, it looks pretty rad, but the lack of Ironside is just such a disappoint. Especially since the entire reason they claimed to have changed it, the facial/full body motion capture, doesn't even look that good compared to other games that use it! Or even those that don't! For Pete's sake, the faces don't even seem as emotive as Resident Evil 6, which was just animated.

This game is pretty decent. All of you bitching and moaning about the changes to the main character, without bothering to try it (and calling it bad because of it) can go sit and circle jerk with the Devil May Cry guys that bitched about the new Dante.

Kinda wish this game had walk speed bound to the mouse wheel like the originals, I really miss that.

I'm in the same boat. Probably going to wait for a price drop, but I don't want SvM to lose its population by the time I get it.
