This game looks great, and it's pretty fun, but I always forget how crushing the difficulty of the battles are.

Guys. You don't need to hurry up in these QLs. We want to see how the game plays, so if you'd normally play it slowly and with lots of pausing, then do just that.

Hell yeah, next best thing to playing this game is watching Mike and Snide play.

This quick look made me all like "no use the rally command use the rally command you stupid." The rally command is incredibly useful!
 
Also you didn't touch on any of the awesome online stuff that they did with this game, with the avatar and the clans and the campaign map, and you didn't show the custom battle feature or the historical battles.

i'd say Mike is awful at them when he has to answer alot of questions while playing them. I don't know about you, but I find it hard to focus on a game when someone is constantly talking to me. "

If you haven't played a Total War game, you really should try this one. The campaign gets really engaging and you get the "just one more turn" feel. :)

It's usually the co-pilot that handles all the questions, but Dave was inquisitive about things that Mike didn't seem to understand or didn't want to explore, whereas if Dave was at the wheel, I think he would've been more eager to demonstrate those things, which would've made for a better quick look. Maybe that's just me, though, knowing nothing about the game to begin with.

Edit: I agree with the above, mike is pretty bad at this.

Turn graphics to low for a travel in time experience back to the 80s of video gaming.

DX11 is coming out in a later update, FYI. The Quick Look didn't mention that. Crysis II is doing the same apparently.

i regret not pre ordering this for $65 with the Total War back catalog on Steam.

Not really though this game is fantastic. 

At first glance I read 'Total War: Shotgun' and got kind of excited. 

This looks really good. I bought both of the previous Total War games to play in order to get ready for Shogun 2. Really great stuff by SEGA. If only some of their other franchises had the same quality... ;)

It's a good game!

This game is fantastic. 
 
But it's not one I'd think would make a good quick look. Really, to do well in Total War games you have to pause or play in slow motion alot because one misstep can snowball into a loss very quickly. You have to think alot about positioning and how fatigued your units are. Not things that are really all that easy while trying to explain the mechanics.

I don't want to be mean, but Mike tried to attack his own army.  Then when he gets in a battle he just charged into the enemy with no strategy.
I would have liked someone with a little more expertise proctoring this. As is, this doesn't demonstrate the true complexity of the game. Also, the multiplayer is WAY different from previous Total War games, they should've showed it.

The game looks neat.  Too bad I'm terrible at strategy games.

This was painful to watch, to say the least.

why so short....

Mike Horn and Dave Snider Quick Looks are a rarity these days.

" While I usually love every QL with Dave this one was kind of awful. Mike's a pretty cool Guy but he just doesn't know his shit when it comes to this Game. He says the Strategy Map stuff isn't fun, he just bunches his units up and simply tells everyone to attack instead of using strategy and he tells his Archers to attack Sword Retainers. Also this quick look was short as hell and didn't represent what the Game is about at all! He didn't show the diplomacy or economy part, he didn't really elaborate on the goal of the Campaign and it didn't show any of the new features like leveling up Agents and Generals or mastering the Arts! This is a shame since Shogun 2 is already one of the best Games released this Year and I was really looking forward to the Quick Look. :( "

Can I play as the guy who holds six swords between his knuckles and can shoot lightning out of them while shouting anachronistic English?

I would like to see one of these where Mike takes his time in battle. 
Hour long Quick Looks are not unheard of, and I think that people who are interested in this game get a lot more out of it if they actually saw the game being played. Gives you more time to actually explain some of the mechanics as well, because all I get from it now is that it just looks like a Total War game, and the people playing it seem like they don't want to go into detail about what sets this apart. Maybe you think that it would make for a boring video, but that's exactly what I would hope to get from a video like this.

 Glad they did a Quick Look of this. I've been a fan of the Total War games since Rome and each successive game has made minor but good improvements. Nice to see they brought back the Rome: Total War general speeches. The game looks good, but Mike's RTS skills could definitely do with some polishing.
 
They weren't the best at extolling the virtues of this game.

Mike Clark? Like ICP's Mike Clark?  So that's what he's up to nowadays.
