The game is really sweet looking but the gameplay looks boring as hell.

It does pick up quite a bit later on. Jeff and Dan were still in the very early stages where a lot of the mechanics weren't introduced yet. Eventually portals will start taking you back to earlier parts of the level and you have to start avoiding your own "line" not dissimilar to the game "snake" for example. Fuel management is also a concern, deciding whether to take the fast paths or not.

It's pretty cool.

@xchairmandrekx: Yeah, the basic gameplay showed here has great potential to become more difficult and varied later on. Glad to hear that it does! I'll download this game when I come back from work, looks sweet.

Totally not what I expected from the thumb, thought it would be a vector based space sim but hey. The music seems pretty alright though.

There is something really aesthetically pleasing about the look. And the way that line fills in taps into some deep hidden OCD part of my brain.

Don't stop for nothing man

You've got that tattoo across your back.

Exactly. They spelt it wrong... But it's... They said they wanted to stop and fix it, and I said... "Now look and what you're making me do."

Okay, that was really funny.

I don't know why I kept thinking about the Sega Master System maze game that was built into the system ROM, but yeah. It's amazing how many games have the simplest of game mechanics but still manage to be fun.

Mention of Anticipation on the NES! I got that game for being good in school as a kid and that game tought me English. I sat there with a Swedish to English dictionary and it was on time so I had to be fast. I learned a lot of words like tie, house, gate, pencil and such.

Presentation and Style is awesome. If this was like a Starfox or some kind of fly in a path and shoot stuff with everything is going on, I'd be in. Sadly not my type of game.

Yeah, the intro looks a lot like the old Silpheed games, which were kinda Starfox-y before Starfox. A bit disappointed the actual gameplay had very little to do with the cutscenes.

That Mario Party minigame is just a Japanese 'Draw Straws' equivalent. You probably don't need to know that.

There is no legitimate reason to dislike Vectorman. I replayed it a few years ago and it still holds up. It was awesome then and it's still awesome now. Same goes for the sequel.

"You should try Game Room sometime."

Jeff just opened up a dark world to young Dan...

They should do a new Game Room video.

Hey I also liked Vector man. It was a damn cool game, and you could use a code to play the entire game as a mouse pointer!

Trace Vector's a pretty enjoyable game overall. It's a very simple concept with very simple controls, but this same simplicity also lets them present a very polished and challenging experience.

Never played 2, but the first was one of my favorite Genesis games growing-up.

Hey @jeff, have you tried the Page Up and Page Down keys while playing?

Also loved the F10 key.

Style looks great, but as Jeff said the gameplay is a little lacking. I was expecting this to be like Star Raiders.
