That price is near-criminal.

I never played the original HD Remix. Were the character sprites as grimey in that as they are here? There's some weird pixelation going on or something, like they downscaled a high-res sprite without applying any filtering. The backgrounds and character portraits don't seem to share the same problem, which is odd...

Still don't understand what's the issue with playing with a single joycon, to me it's just meant for a quick multiplayer session with friends. It's not the best but perfectly seviceable for that purpose.

Hopefully Nintendo will reduce the price of their controllers but it's gonna get tiring if you guys are gonna complain every time you do a quick look on the switch :/

40 bucks seems way too much for that port though. Maybe 20 at most.

At least a MH game is coming.

Hmm why can't the internet/network problems be solved by say... taking a separate internet connection/subscription to the building specifically for playing games online in the studio, much like you'd have if you play games at home. So, not tied to the corporate network.

I suppose that would be even more of a nightmare with which cables to use and such. Maybe there are rules against it? Hmm. It does seem like an important thing to solve for the future. Not just for us but also for your own sanity.

So this would be terrible but do you need to reset the controllers after each move? It talks about holding them in front of you and hitting the buttons at the beginning of each move.

Watching both Jason and Jeff not put their hands on the joycons the way the game tells them to for the motion control mode, with thumbs on top and fingers resting along the inside where the SL/SR buttons are, instead putting their thumbs on the sticks that weren't used for one second outside of the menu, makes me incredibly optimistic about the competency any of them are likely to display with the similar ARMS control scheme.

My main take away from this is that I'd probably pay $40 for a Switch version of Ultra Street Fighter 4. Maybe $20 at this point. But not for SF2. This is a silly thing.

Watching any reviewer play ARMS is going to be super rage inducing XD

If you guys are reading this: Here's a heads-up! Cause I saw some people already mess this up. When you want to block in ARMS (or move) you don't need to move your arms. If you do move your arms a lot for anything other than punching or grabbing, like they never tell you to, you will probably accidentally punch instead of block.

I bet most reviewers are going to make that mistake. XD

I don't know how, but this looks far worse than SF2 HD Remix at a far higher price - HD Remix is regularly on sale for like $4.00. I can't see anyone picking this up unless they just desperately need to take SF2 on the go with the Nintendo Switch.

After reading the comments and then looking back at the video, yeah Jason and Jeff totally weren't holding the joy cons correctly for that crappy Way of The Hado mode.

But even so it seems like they were doing the basic motions it wanted and it was pretty unresponsive. Which, of course it is. Motion controls!

So we've got new(ish) art that lacks a lot of the charm of the original game, a menu that looks like someone cobbled it together in about half a day, and it's a nearly full priced release (UK at least)?

Doesn't sound like a great buy to me :/

Street Fighter 2 came out in arcades in 1991 - isn't most of this music pretty much from that version? In either case, I feel like a lot of Japanese stuff has some jazz or jazz fusion in it somewhere.

Are all Quick Looks going to be a 3 person team sort of thing? I can't remember when this started.. is it recent or did I just not notice before? Before Ben came on I could swear it was usually the classic two person thing. Maybe it's because they're easing Ben in but he has been in every single feature thus far.

That was actually his name back in the Street Fighter movie. They decided to combine characters for whatever reason.

Also, it looks like you're supposed to hold your hands horizontally for that motion-controlled hurricane kick. Obviously that would have saved the entire mode. :P

@humanity: 3-person Quick Looks could be a great way to change the previous QL format, as you could be bringing in a wider range of opinions - for example, 2 of the crew might love a game, but the 3rd might say "but here are it's flaws" (or vice versa). I think it could work!

Also, regarding the "they're holding the controller wrong" -- if the majority of reviewers are having trouble with the controllers, that doesn't mean that people should lament the lack of instruction-reading among the reviewing community.

It means the game company didn't make a very comfortable or intuitive controller.
