Haven't seen the quick look yet, but that sucks! The way the marines talk in the 40k RTS games is awesome. The Dreadnaught has such a badass voice.

This is cool looking. It's a shame that THQ closed the UK studio that did this. But considering the MASSIVE failure of both the De Blob 2 and Red Faction Armageddon, it was inevitable that they'd close some studios.

Dammit, Brad. You pick a melee dude and wonder why your gun sucks. Even when Vinny alerts you to the fact, you freak out when an enemy gets close and shoot at him. Use the freakin' sword, man.

Edit: Alright he figured it out. A bit sad it took him so long. I don't want to be one of the ppl who shit on Brad, anyway. He's my favorite of the GB crew.

Does Brad not realise that his character is melee oriented? Man this quicklook is frustrating.

Yeah, I am literally four minutes in and Brad does not know how to use his chain sword despite A) there being a picture of a controller UP ON THE SCREEN FOR LIKE FIVE SECONDS and B) there being like THREE BUTTONS used in the entire game.

Yo, if you don't buy a game, why should you be able to get achievements from it? That seems like a really bad thing to complain about.

Also, "I wish you fell down on the button!" was pretty great.

@wrathofconn: It's still better than Dungeon Siege 3- apparently, at least at first (maybe they patched it) the person joining the game didnt keep anything they gained in the session (exp, gold, nothing) it was very wtf why bother?

So what, did they read any tip other than the grenade one? Only Brad caught the one about special attacks.

Some of this really made me sympathize with devs going through focus testing.

As others have mentioned, if you're new to WH40k and want to learn more about the universe, the Eisenhorn Omnibus is probably the best place to start. It gives a great look at many aspects of the universe, beyond just the grand battlefields that the games portray. And if you have access to it, the core rulebook for the tabletop game is chock full of information about the universe, as are each of the individual race codices.

I don't care how the game plays! They shall show no fear! Buyin' it!

Oh, and gimme a break: "If it's green, it's unclean." Know your Space Marine keywords, children.

All this bitching about Brad, and nobody mentioned how Vinny stood next to a collectible for about 60 seconds during a firefight without ever touching it.  I was like IT'S RIGHT THERE!

This looks more like he is too busy trying to stay funny and talking to pay attention as to what is happening in the game. This is how "lets do a quicklook on a game we haven't touched before"'s usually go.

So at the end, was the select hero option at the top not working? What was going on there?

He's right thought - his dude isn't rated for guns, he's rated for MELEE.

Don't usually get frustrated at GB staff during QLs and especially hate it when people hate on Brad, but damn, that was kinda frustrating.

Never did try any 40k stuff. Seems like an accessible place to get introduced to the universe.

I also wish someone HD remaked One as a dual joystick shooter. Game was awesome! Or Bruce Willis in Apocalypse.

Even though it looks like shit. day-one purchase for me. I'm a twin-stick addict.

Looks like fun. I need a game where I can blow shit up right now.

I agree that it's not Brad's lack of skill as he has showed in many games that he can do the right things, it's just the utter disinterest in paying the slightest bit of attention to a game he's covering, he may not like the game but every job has assignments you don't really want to do but that doesn't mean it's ok to do it with total disregard to doing it right. 
 
I really do hope that something is done about this.

Everyone has made comments about how difficult it is to talk coherently and play at the same time. I assume that's why it always seems like Brad isn't paying attention to anything on the screen.

Gameplay doesn't look that good, but I love the ork body parts flying about as stuff blows up.

This game looks fun.

I love how Brad is constantly running away... When he is playing a melee character.

The game looks very standard but I am slightly tempted just because it is 40k, if it was 400 points I would snap it up.

No I'd suggest the first three Horus Heresy books for anyone new to 40k.

Easier then that. If it has Dan Abnett or Graham McNeil on the front get stuck in. Eisenhorn and Ravenor (Abnett) for the feel of 40k universe and The Ultramarine novels (quite partial to those) for a bit Space Marine ass kicking

Looks suprisigly good for such a stealth realease ! If it only had online CO-OP it would be a must buy for sure.
