Losing your progress for an event when you replay it seems like a weird oversight. I'd have expected it to work like a high score thing, where you keep your old progress unless you do better.

This game basically laid dormant in early access from 2015 until late last year. Really glad it got restarted.

I swear, the second race track looks exactly like a track from one of the Flatout games. It makes sense, but it's crazy that I can still recognize that track.

Apparently I added this to my Steam wishlist 2014-06-28, so almost exactly four years ago.

This game is an absolute blast for about two hours, then, as the novelty wears off, and its many glaring errors gradually make themselves known, you wonder how Bugbear/THQ Nordic can justify the price point for what's available. Online is already pretty dead (which is the most entertaining aspect of the game by far, given how stagnant and one-dimensional the single-player AI is), and the career mode is seriously bare-bones (there aren't any Steam achievements, for example), so it's one for those with very short attention spans.

This game is so great! Please do a Playdate so we can join the fun sometime :)

@morningcoffee: Lot's of people "seriously don't know how to drive", because in a city/nation with a robust mass transit system and/or ride-sharing services, there's sometimes no need for it.

C.f. Brad Shoemaker, as I recall him saying in a long-past podcast that he either never drove before moving to San Francisco, or hasn't driven since moving to San Francisco (or both).

I can't wait for this to come out on PS4 as almost every other racer this gen is boring or bad. I'm stuck with GT Sport (which is fine) and that's it. ONRush is great but it's not a racer.

Ahh, the internet. Where people rage in the in-game chat because their car got wrecked in a game designed ENTIRELY around cars getting wrecked (to the point where it's in the game's damn name). :b

The vehicular violence in Bugbear games is diabolically satisfying. You want to physically lean into hits. You get possessed by the urge to smash it up and drive like a vindictive asshole. Lining it up, nailing it and driving off with a grin as a disintegrating car chaotically tumbles around in your rearview. It's very good.

And if it happens to you online you're just like "Good slam, ya roadbastard!"

This is the closest thing to the Mad Max game I want.

I would prefer all games to have server browsers and not just a quick play option. You can pick map, amount of max players, connection quality.

The Micro Machines Man is still alive as of right now, according to Wikipedia.

Honestly, I refunded the game of fear that people are abondonning it. I can see how waiting for the race to end is agonizing, especially if you're one of those who got trampled in the first/second corner. Add the slow countdown and the IMPOSSIBLE votekick system (all have to vote within the same 30sec!) and you have enough for people to doze off and play something else.

The game requires patience. If you're unlucky and you crashed early in the race, than that means that you probably have to wait about 6 minutes until you can roll around again. With the sometimes unfair community using the TITLE of the game as an excuse to troll racers, it can really take a toll on your patience some more.

Great game, but they've to change the pacing, and maybe the price.

This is definitely the largest amount of Finnish online players I've seen in a quick look.

The soundtrack is primarily heinous.
So much better when replaced by Spotify.
I made a playlist consisting mostly of upbeat merrily aggressive grimey psychobilly, punk, rock, ska, and Queen.

Also you can change the names of the AI drivers by modifying the two text files in the folder below, which I recommend doing or it'll feel like you're playing against internet randos (they're names of backers).

Just be aware that the career races that consist of multiple heats require there to be at least 96 names to pull from ai_names_career.txt. You can not play those (the game will crash if you try) if you don't have at least 96 names in that file.

I love this game and fun fact. I yelled at dan to do the figure 8 race on lawn mowers on twitter and he did it! It was a fun UPF (You all can thank me now).

I supported this game from day one and love the final product. I DO NOT think it's worth 45 bucks, but it is a fun game! I love the car damage!
