They really need a magnetic tape + metal board like Top Gear did for the list, lol.

Hurray, definitely my favorite Giant Bomb series. Glad to see a new entry.

Now the real tragedy of SFxT, much like Tatsunoku, is that a bunch of those Tekken characters are really damn cool in SF incarnations. We'll probably never see them again. Let alone in a better game ;_;

Keep the science coming. Still many more games to try in a controlled environment.

Love it or hate it, feel like they didn't give SFxT its best shot. They didn't use many of the game's key mechanics. They didn't use cross arts, cross assaults, or even Pandora, which was kind of the theme of the game! The tactical choice of sacrificing a character is pretty cool. Not to mention that they didn't do a lot of the fancy supers, which make for pretty fun finishers. Also, the goofy single-player stuff was great. The silly endings when you played with matched sets of characters...

I had a really good time with it. My biggest knock against it was the DLC madness, which wasn't much of an issue here.

You guys need to steal the Top Gear board where all games are written on a magnetic strip to move around easily.

I don't know what it is about it but I think that SFxT is a seriously ugly looking game.

Marvel Super Heroes is the first fighting game that I ever learned to play and really got me into the genre. Street Fighter and MK (and stuff like TMNT Tourney Fighters) were too hard for me, but MSH was flashy, mahsy, and zany enough to really hold my attention. Plus, you know, Spider-Man. I was just the right age when that game came out.

I've only dabbled a tiny bit in SFXT but I was pretty impressed by it. Capcom did a damn good job at recreating the Tekken tag experience in a Street Fighter setting, not to mention the way that the Tekken guys actually play and control. I give them all of the credit in the world for making something like that work as well as it did. A shame that the game probably has too many mechanics and systems, gems, and that whole DLC fiasco.

SFXT v2013 is better than SF5, Capcom need to step it up. I'm pretty sure SFXT has outsold SF5 too despite becoming irrelevant within 18 months.

BTW Jason, the PS3 version of SFXT, SFIV and especially MVC3 all had considerably more input lag than PC (where applicable) and Xbox 360, maybe that's why it felt off. I thought the PS3 versions of these games were all awful because of the extra lag.

Capcom really had it before. The first trailer of SFxT was everything fans ask for. Then they started adding auto combos, changed the visuals, and gems? They really had it, and slipped!

Jason set the SFxT round timer to infinite to hide one of the biggest flaws of the game and possibly the #1 reason it flopped, smooth move, lol. Capcom apologist to the max.

Looks like bad science to me!

In 2013, Capcom fixed a lot of the timeout stuff. Also if you're not doing high damage combos of course rounds are going to take a lot longer. Timeouts during Ranking of Fighters don't say much about the game's flaws and only show that Jeff and Jason don't know the combos, which is not an insult because they haven't played it in a long time.

All Capcom had to do to fix timeouts was make SFXT run on 'Marvel' time, which I believe is 3 minutes a round/match instead of one and a half. In typical Capcom style they took too long and then nobody cared, it's SF5 all over again (except SFXT actually had content at launch, and it was a better game *ahem*).

Played a ton of Marvel Super Heroes on PS1 (and later in MvC: Origins). Wanted to do a photoshop or video recently where I put pictures of the movie (or TV) versions of the characters into the character select screen but never got around to it. Also wouldn't really work because I don't think Shuma-Gorath has been in any movie or TV thing (A version of Blackheart was in the first Nic Cage Ghost Rider movie).

I dont play fighting games, but this is one of my favorite series on Giant Bomb.

The Jeff - Jason collaboration is an underrated property.

I know its silly, but I really wish they could actually do every fighting game, ever. I love the way they add new games to the list. Its funny yet informative....especially for someone who doesnt know much about the genre.

I was concerned for a minute there that they would let prior experience with a game influence the results of carefully controlled experimental methodology. Sloppy thinking like that would clearly be unscientific.

I always suspected Jeff uses subscription money to fund his crippling Salty Bet addiction.

Street Fighter X Tekken v2013 is a fantastic fighting game that relied on strong neutral, whiff punishing, and high damage combos. Not giving the game a second chance after the patch because of DLC and gem issues is one of the biggest sins the FGC has committed. ESPECIALLY after all the goddamn sins Street Fighter 5 is currently pulling off with it's terrible DLC plans, lack of communication from devs, and one dimensional gameplay. Yet, people still flock to it.

I know it's not the main purpose of the show, but I do look forward to them evaluating games like Street Fighter 2 and 4, Tekken 3, and Mortal Kombat 9 just to see how they rank them.
