For how much I think Patrick is bad at this game with rare moments of gameplay mastery sprinkled in there, I still enjoy this feature quite a lot. Can't wait for the DLC with much more ridiculous items and bosses.

Yea, hitting the expansion content seems to be the only way to go from here. I started with it, and by golly was did my runs never go as well as Scoops'.

There's a character named Cain in Binding of Isaac. That's about it. Name relation. And that Cain really breaks that game in lots of insane ways. It's worth watching the run even if you're not a fan of Binding of Isaac... because gambling. Cain and gambling.

I haven't been watching this series of videos, but my guess is that the Binding of Issac is really bloody and Cain Velasquez is such a brutal fighter that he can cause fighters to bleed a lot during his MMA matches. I think that's the reference.

@nightriff: In everybody's defense, it seems like comments on the site will sometimes not show up until like 5-10 minutes after they're made. I've seen a new video go up where the videos page says it already has 4 comments, but then when I open up the video page, there are still no visible comments on it.

@bisonhero: Seems to only be effecting videos too that I've noticed, some weird issue.

Wrath makes the game harder but given Patrick's success rate at BoI runs so far I think he's more than ready for the extra challenge. Then again he hasn't even triggered "Everything Is Terrible" yet but with his success rate getting the necessary 6 completions will be more grind than challenge.

Well now I have learned of Patrick's (not so hidden) gambling addiction!

Sometimes I wonder what would happen if Patrick's wife came in and he was like "not now, I'm gambling!"

Wrath of the Lamb should have already been added. It doesn't change the base gameplay enough, so for a long chunk of these hour long runs we will be going through basically the same stuff. With or without the DLC this feature has maybe a couple more episodes in it, without the DLC we won't get to see all the random stuff before it gets boring.

Yeah, with the random nature of the game you still get plenty of runs with all the same old vanilla items and bosses.

Man Patrick is lucky as hell. Ive never been a consistent player of this game, but I feel like 1 in 5 runs turns out to be a good run. Unlocked Cain the other day, first run was great. Others after that have been really average. For a live stream he hasnt seemed to get really shit on with lack of item drops.

Lord Gamblor is so OP. Watching as Patrick got heart after heart was insane to watch live as the chat exploded. Great run!

Well he was playing as Cain, who has the lucky foot, so that certainly helps with the luck factor. Maybe try praying to lord gamblor more?

I have been using Cain as well. Had awful runs where no bombs just screwed me, also no health increases. First run with Cain was awesome. Every run after that was average or poor.

Now is good time to do the DLC. All vanilla Isaac characters and bosses are still in play when Wrath o the Lamb is installed so you're not missing out on anything. You've experienced the main bits of what vanilla has to offer anyway. There is other stuff but a lot of it requires some grinding, which isn't the best for daily video feature.

53:25 - Patrick kept it classy, I'd of said "All y'all STFU, sit the fuck down, and STFU again"

This feature got me to finally fire up Isaac for the first time in two years last night (I had already unlocked Cain & defeated Mom twice but never got far in the Womb). Last night I managed to scrape enough coins and got a ladder (stuck at 13 cents, floor cleared including the boss but not the Challenge Room w/ a grey chest which managed to get me the 2c) and MAN that was fun to avoid bad guys and run across the levels.

And yeah, never tried Cain because I was afraid of the low health and managed to not only beat Mom's Heart for my first time but I even got the secret passage to Sheol and came a SLIVER away from defeating Satan's 3rd form. Man, that was a power trip! Oh, I even saw Krampus, what a surprise!

Maybe a day trying out Judas, but otherwise might as well jump to Wrath of Lang now that you've got the hang of the game and have put together a fair amount of good runs. There's still some items and bosses to unlock in vanilla BoI, but they just requires getting enough good runs to defeat Mom's Heart a bunch of times and unlock them. Fun for average player just trying out characters and strategies, not as much fun for streaming.

WoL will unlock a ton of new stuff, and still have all the vanilla bosses in there waiting. Though it will be significantly harder to make it back to Mom's Heart.

@john1912: I don't think Patrick's been all that lucky, even if the end of this run got ridiculous. In his last few good runs he's been close to death and had to make good use of his resources at some point. Cain's all about surviving until your Lucky Foot gives you enough coins, and then raiding arcades as much as you can to supplement yourself with pills and blood bags. The dollar with health pills being in the mix broke the game open, but when you're playing Cain and gambling that much, that's not that uncommon to happen.
