We finally get the BioForge interview that everyone has been waiting for and the comments are still filled with bickering idiots arguing about nothing.

The internet is the worst.

I think the complaint is valid, even if it is being put across a bit aggressively here. Patrick isn't the most nimble or concise speaker and if he wants to improve on that, as I'm sure he does, he's gonna need the listeners to give him feedback. Nothing wrong with that.

Yeah I'm an idiot for wanting to hear the Bioforge guy rather than Patrick waffle on.

It's not like I'm attacking him personally, I just don't like his style and I am just putting my opinion here.

Fantastic interview, some really interesting insight in to the game I'd easily say is responsible for one of GB's best ever video series.

What a great interview. Patrick is so good at having a meaningful discussion with the people he's interviewing, instead of just asking a bunch of questions. This was incredibly interesting!

I really enjoyed this interview, thanks Patrick.

I had just replayed through Bioforge about 2 weeks before it's appearance on Unprofessional Fridays (similarly, because I saw its rerelease on GOG). I had played through it originally when it was new and remembered it being great. Upon replaying it, I can't believe I could have ever thought it was good. The trial-and-error gameplay, the clunky and overly complex fighting system, the awful movement.

After that, it was uplifting to see it played in a context where people could laugh at (and with) it and enjoy it in that context, versus me playing it in a serious manner by myself and sadly destroying my nostalgia for it. This interview has added a nice cap to the whole experience.

You're getting much better at the things you have setup up for yourself. Coming from a person that had the hardest time liking you my god that is saying something. I really am enjoying your content that you make for us now and I cant wait to watch you play Outlast in a future Spookin. <3

Yes Patrick, if only you knew how to do an interview. The point of an interview is to hear the person that is being interviewed. Your role is to provide short and concise questions in a meaningful manner. Nobody wants to hear you drone on about your own stuff (at least in an interview). Maybe prepare better next time and don't talk down to people who are giving feedback. Also when the interviewee fails to understand the actual question it means you're doing something wrong as the interviewer.

Jesus Christ calm down. Patrick works so god damn hard to bring these interviews and content. Weather its interviews, Worth Reading/Playing, Solo quicklooks he brings us content. If you are criticizing a mans interview skills you should try and do it since you are such an expert of how you should do an interview.

I like Patrick more and more. I think he's had the luck and misfortune of getting into this industry way too young. I don't think there's anything wrong in pointing out opportunity areas for improvement. He likes long rambling questions where he sorta loses himself a bit too much, but you can tell he's passionate about what he talks about. Doing interviews can be very difficult, but there's an art in being concise, rather than just hearing yourself talk. I don't think Patrick is trying to hear himself talk, but I know he's received this kind of feedback before.

We just want Patrick to be the best he can be, that's all.

As silly as this game was and as many goofs as there were, I genuinely loved watching this game be played through. Really brought me back to the old school RE games.

@vinchenzo: There's more than one type of interview. It's somewhat ignorant to consider your view, whether its a more mainstream representation of an interview or not, to be the correct way to do one.

It also seems clear people on this site sometimes don't know how to give good criticism. Being snarky or condescending is not considered criticism. If you want him to actually consider what you have to say then saying "Wow Patrick needs to shut up" is not the best way to do it.

Just finished listening. I didn't know what to expect from this interview, but I came out pleased. Props to Ken! He's a cool guy.

@vinchenzo: As long as you're telling Patrick to be like the vanilla-default interviewer, you should probably consider that this thing is 50 minutes long. Even if Patrick is talking for half of that (which he's not, but I'll humor you here), that's a whole heap more from Ken Demarest than you would've gotten in a standard format. Personally, I feel like the conversational nature this style improves the responses you get from the interviewees anyway. It's a lot less dry this way.

But to each his own, I suppose. You're free to criticize. I'm just stoked that we had such a lengthy interview with Mr. Bioforge.

@vinchenzo: You do realise that the more Patrick sounds like a real human being when interviewing someone, the likelier they are to be at ease and feel more forthcoming. Unless you'd rather he sounded rote and boring. He does a good job of setting the tone near the start and for the rest of the interview, does a good job of letting his subject speak.

You guys know what the Interview Dumptruck is right?? Normally, these audio interviews would never be heard, and we would only get the written transcript. They throw it up on the site as a podcast because some people just want it raw. By all means, if you don't want to hear Patrick speak, or somehow think that this raw interview that would normally never be heard is supposed to follow some strict format, then don't listen. Read the write up.

I would love to hear more interviews like this from all that goofy games that get played on this site.
