@brad I'm sorry, but that 2nd game was pathetic behavior by you. The guy is ignored during the picking phase, then when after pinging upwards of 10 times, he asks you as politely as possible to pay more attention, you call him kind of a dick. And then after shit-talking him pretty much all game, you cap it off by reporting him for comm abuse for what exactly? That's ridiculous, if I'm playing any sort of recreational sport, and someone asks me to "please *insert suggest behavior here*" and I respond with, "shut up dick", no one would ever invite me back.

I use a Razer Naga, it's a great mouse for a game like this.

Being able to bind everything you need to numbers on the mouse is so useful.

Thanks to @crispy for running an awesome stream, you've been keeping my Dota levels up while the Daily's been away. And even if it's weekly now on the site, I know I can still get great rapier-oriented content from the GB community the rest of the time.

Does Brad not know you can control minions even when you're dead. He could have totally killed CM with those eidolons but they were just stood there doing nothing.

Cmon @brad, get in that Jungle son. Also, just some advice, hand of Midas isn't a good thing to get at this level because it takes something like 30 min to recoup its cost if you use it exactly when it's done cooldown. Yeah it has stats that aren't bad but it'd probably be better to spend that money somewhere else.

The Daily Dota is back?! 3 hours! Fuck yesssss.

Edit: also going through the chat wheel options the other day, there are some kind of weird ones in there, and some are pretty telling. Such as: "Game is hard", "New Meta" or my personal favorite, "Relax, youre doing fine". If only they had, "Hey, don't be rude".

Edit 2: Wait, how was the veng level 7 at 12min in? That veng was out of lane for so long!

Lost my shit when CM called for Rosh outloud.

What? No.

It's a really simple calculation:

Midas costs 1900g, you can use it every 100 seconds and it conveniently gives you 190g. So, that makes its break-even point at 10 uses, which is 100*10 seconds, which is 16.6 minutes. So after about 17 minutes (generally a little more, since you usually won't 100% use it on cooldown) you are making profit.

Assuming a 7 minute Midas (which is okay, but you can get it in 5 minutes or less if you're really good), you'll be making profit from the Midas at 24 minutes in the game. Not too bad. Also, you get extra experience from every creep that you use the Midas on, so you generally want to use your Midas on the big jungle creeps (big red Ursa, Centaur, Satyr Hellcaster etc.) to maximize your experience gain.

@brad Usually enjoy this feature greatly, team banter great , but that second game was kinda infuriating to listen too. That random guy did not curse or anything and said please from the very beginning. Being ignored almost entire game would make me kinda annoyed too, seemed like a reasonable dude. Wanted to know lanes so he could make a good pick, got no response, then 15+ min later one of you, crispy maybe, complain about his pick. Just....no.

And saying "Dota community everybody" at THAT dude, especially while spending most of the game just calling him a dick repeatedly. Maybe take a step back and think of what you're saying...

Got kinda of an elitist vibe off that match from a usually funny group, just stopped watching the video after that. Love this site, but expect and would appreciate better behavior towards randoms from my daily dota :/

I meant it takes till about the 30 min mark to recoup it's cost when you are at Brad's skill level and by that time the 1900g would have been better spent somewhere else. Especially when you consider it's going to be another 10-15 minutes or so until you see a decent net positive on the gold that it's generated and all the while you need to be consistent with the cooldown timing.

So yes, if you're good you can get a midas and have a decent net positive on incoming gold by the 32 minute mark, but you have to pretty much be perfect the entire time and that's my point. Midas is obviously great if you can use it right, but it's usually not a good idea unless you're just trying to practice or know you can be perfect with it.

While I want to watch this video, I kind of don't want to for fear that this is true and it'll just break my heart. I wouldn't think Giant Bomb would be the place where the staff, or members of the community would put themselves on a higher pedestal to everybody else and turn into the kind of people that they used to hate. Brad always talks about how lucky he was to have people to teach him the ropes of the game and work WITH him. I kind of don't want to get into DOTA if even the people I trust not to give me a rough time would be the ones to make me feel shitty about myself. So if this was all true hopefully Brad apologizes to that dude because it probably wasn't fun for him to be made fun of and embarrassed in front of a ton of people. :(

So Brad doesn't know how to play mid and yet gets told, in the nicest way I can think of considering it's DOTA, to pay attention and then calls the guy a dick. Nice work.

For someone who is pretty much just starting out in DOTA you would think the guy would be a little more forgiving of other people in the game as well.

That Ursa and Jugg are exactly why I mute everyone at all times on XBOX Live. If you think one person sucks telling him or her to get better, pay attention, and you can't rely on him or her is about the worst and dumbest solution you can use to make the other person better. Also, it's a video game ... so calm down people. Just play a different one.

@thewan: What exactly should one do in that situation then? The Ursa asked for help during the picking phase, attempted to grab Brad's attention with a flurry of pings about the guy in their jungle, then when Brad completely whiffed, he asked him to pay more attention. There's a vast difference between "yo pay attention" and "omfg you noob, I pinged like 10 times you fucking suck". If you're playing a team game where everyone's performance matters, and you can't take the least bit of criticism, then don't play. That Ursa was as polite and calm as you could hope for in the beginning of that game, so I don't understand how could say "calm down it's a video game"

@coolarman Depends on how much passive aggression you read into his initial comments, having played a looooot of dota, I think the guy is better than most of the community, and Brad read some snark into that "please pay more attention" quote that wasn't there.

Let it be known... DroidOrgan and Jordino (or whatever the fuck his name is) are the fucking worst! They don't know how to play but think they can talk shit to Brad and the crew? He kept the team from farming early game by insisting they gank to no avail... Then has the nerve to ask how long Rosh takes to respawn? Really?!

I had a difficult time hearing everyone on the stream. Brad's voice was loud while the rest were very quiet. Perhaps the cause is my particular speaker setup.

Why would you act like that? Why did you do that? I just want to know. I was grumpy last night after watching this because I couldn't believe you had acted in such a way.

Wow, that second game completely turned me off to the rest of the video. Brad's been complaining since he started about people not being friendly or helpful to new players. The way Kessler and Crispy jumped on the bandwagon of hate was also very disappointing. And then he goes and reports him?! What am I watching?! Constant making fun of his play and his items, it kind of negates all the stuff people have been saying on this feature since the beginning. If Brad is going to be that much of a, sorry to say, dbag, then he shouldn't get upset at how people react to his play, it's only fair.

#pitifulplays

Keep it classy guys.
