I could get used to these podcasts coming out at a completely reasonable hour like this.

That intro music reminds me of Enforcer: Police, Crime, Action. The QL of it, to be exact.

I appreciate that the Friday podcast actually comes out on a Friday in my timezone.

That you're criticizing a policy based on a hypothetical one man developer who goes bankrupt over mass abuse of the refund policy just beggars belief. What about all the real and documented cases of devs abandoning early access games, misrepresenting their games through marketing and just doing their best to deceive consumers to make a buck? I'll take a policy that curbs bad shit that's actually happening over something that might happen.

@vinny I don't know if you know already, but this episode doesn't appear to be on the RSS feed, and consequently it's not appearing in my iTunes library or my Podcasts app. The manual download works fine though.

The discussion seems more about maybe tweaking the policy to take account for something like that, not abandoning a policy of refunds. Your examples won't be affected about a change that takes into account really short games, and the policy itself probably won't cover devs abandoning early access games if it doesn't happen within 2 weeks of you buying the game.

The Beastcast has ads, but no Smallbusinessman? Does the West coast office own the rights to Smallbusinessman?

I agree but what sort of changes would you make?

But it might be unfortunate if the time limit makes it so that everyone who plays through a short game can get a refund after completing the game. It might not be a huge problem in practice, the people who are interested in those kind of games are maybe not interested in refunding them, but it's something that should be taken into consideration at least.

I feel like this show should have a regular cast of Alex, VInny, Austin and Jeff Bakalar. He was a lot of fun those first few episodes.

Vinny said in the Mic Check episode that they would normally have a fourth rotating chair with Jeff B as the most recurring guest. Maybe he wasn't available this week.

The Jeff call in at the beginning was nice to see.

The Steam policy on refunds will likely adjust over time. Valve is typically good at listening to people, and I think developers will take note if their game is only a couple hours playtime and there are significant numbers of refund requests. Valve may make it clear when there is a "point of no return" on a refund for a specific game - or even test out "trial" periods.

The Beastcast is still new enough that I'm surprised whenever it comes out Friday morning.

Wait, wasn't the Monument Valley thing basically the developer whining and exaggerating the whole thing on twitter? I distinctly remember when Patrick ran the story that users here tried to find that flood of 1-star reviews regarding the expansion and finding that they amounted to not even double digits, basically.

Another fantastic episode. Getting Arrow Pointing Down/early Bombcast vibes. I kind of miss Jeff B. though. Would love it if you could get him as a guest at least once a month.

I'm going to say it. I'm starting to like the Beastcast more than the Bombcast. I said it! I almost don't know what to do with all this podcast goodness.

@alex As someone who has seen a lot of Ru Pauls Drag Race and was unfamiliar with you watching it, I was pretty surprised to hear it being talked about on the show. My girlfriend had the same view you did, the queens this season were mostly just very dull compared to other seasons.

Also, this is now two weeks in a row that there's been no air-horn. What's wrong, don't you guys want to represent New York properly or something?

Didn't realize how much I missed hearing Alex podcast regularly since the end of the morning show. Loving this new show. Austin seems to already have a great rapport with Alex and Vinny. Plus, those little production touches Vinny has been adding in are the best! Keep up the great work. I want every day to be Friday!

Having another podcast to bookend the week and scoop up what's happening when it is still fresh is nice.

Any chance of podcast art getting attached to the Premium feed? Pocketcasts still shows a blank box for the feed as a whole, even though art shows up while playing individual episodes.
