Hey Jeff, I am an ER nurse so suffice it to say I have a stressful job like you do. It is hard, but finding the time/motivation to do 30-45 minutes of rigorous exercise a day is difficult but let me tell you the effect it has on anxiety not to mention physical fitness just clearly outweighs (pardon the pun) the costs. If you need to use an albuterol inhaler etc. so be it. You will thank yourself for doing it. Raise them natural endorphins!

Did anyone else feel like Jeff was hinting at the state of Giantbomb before they linked up with CBS at the end there, kind of seemed like he was talking about Giantbomb going under without them.

Yes, you are. The moment I plugged my iPod into iTunes after the V. 11 update, it WIPED ALL THE MEMORY of my iPod. I had very important audio recordings of classes and similar stuff on the device... Lost because of Apple's "glorious" iTunes 11

FUCK ITUNES! Don't like it at all.

I thought Rage running at 60fps on consoles was amazing to play, unfortunately it was lacking in other spots.

Respect for the 60 fps talk Jeff. Fuck the "make it look pretty in still images" industry.

(disclaimer: I think there are some games that are fine with 30, but otherwise, 60 all the way, even if it's 720p with no AA, as long as it's fucking 60 minimum steady at all times with zilch input lag)

Itunes 11 took away view podcasts as grid, and it's bumming me out. It's pretty typical of the mac mentality - when they build a new interface they think is good, they take away the options from previous interfaces entirely to keep the software 'simple to use.' So then you have to go find 3rd party modifications to get things the way you want, which is far from simple.

Not looking forward to trying to get pictures back on my podcast library or renaming them, either. Admittedly that stuff was already broken as hell.

I mostly use Itunes at the moment just to stay current so I can fix it for other people, but I admit they have some slick procedures built into the thing as far as synching. They just need to change Jobs's shitty 'only one way to do things' mentality on a company-wide level if they want to make products for people that are into computers for their own sake.

What I did to work out is I bought an elliptical and placed it right in front of the TV. I usually use it while watching Quick Looks.

My concern with an emphasis on live shows is just that they take up so much time. Not to watch, obviously, because I wouldn't like this site very much if I didn't enjoy watching them play games for hours on end, but just that it cannibalizes all the traditional site content.

I remember when we had this problem with the Happy Hours, which took up a lot of time and ideas that would better be served elsewhere, and, let's be honest, were mostly not that great. It took ages for the community's concerns to get through to them that they would be better off spending that time and effort doing other more traditional videos, and after that subscriber content got a lot better.

And what about subscriber content? Would these frequent live shows be subscriber only? If not, what would be? And wouldn't their be less time for the already paltry amount of subscriber content that exists right now if you're doing live shows and the traditional Quick Looks that GB has been struggling to keep up with until just recently? There's a lot of questions and unfortunately there's never any answers; all these ideas seem like they come together minutes before they're put into action. If they're purely supplementary, the live streams are a fine idea, but inevitably they start cannibalizing what already exists and there's already such a low emphasis on premium content.

I like the occasional livestream (like the ridiculous Funky Barn one; it was great) but I think, given the choice, I would rather have more subscriber stuff, because it feels like there's such a low level of commitment to that aspect of the site at the moment.

On the topic of console games letting you configure buttons, I think it needs to be a standard that EVERY game needs an option to switch aim down sights and shooting to the top bumpers or R1/L1. Not many forget to change it, but even those that have the option sometimes still change other aspects of the control. Trigger buttons are not good for shooting since they take a bit longer to make contact with the reciever. Again, not all games forget to add it, but there are a few I haven't purchased because of this.

For syncing with Apple devices, I've been having pretty good times with MusicBee; it's an open-source WinAmp-esque media library with loads of options. It's pretty easy to use, but it's primarily good for folks who use a lot of .ogg or .flac or other non-.mp3 file formats since it'll auto-convert that stuff over during syncs. MediaMonkey is solid too, but I've been entrenched in MusicBee since moving from iTunes (too bad) to foobar (not good for large libraries but good for messing around with native-format chiptunes), to MB.

Jeff, I shall expect you to pour your soda beverage into a Jar prior to drinking it during these recordings. Plastic bottles have no place in Jar town,. NO PLACE.

On the topic of sequels, I think Assassin's Creed series shows great examples of both the good and bad side for video games. First, getting a new IP to hit is tough. Getting the funding and time to make that new IP game is brutal. Absolutely brutal. So you do what you can and you get most of your ideas in there, then push it out into the market and hope for the best.

It'll probably be busted in a few ways and may not even be anything approaching a finished game in the sense of 'finished game' as the consumer defines it: Assassin's Creed 1.

If it sells well enough, there is your chance to take the time and use that money you've earned to make the game right. Assassin's Creed 2.

But then you get greedy. You push out a third game that is essentially the same as the previous one but with a couple new gameplay hooks: Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. This will probably go okay for you if your tweaks are interesting. Say you hit success with this,

Now you're thinking you're really hot shit. Maybe you think your consumers will pay for fresh cups of your urine. You do the same rehash as last time, but put even less effort into it: Assassin's Creed Revelations.

You refuse to learn. You think putting a numeral after your next title will carry a certain amount of caché. Maybe enough that people will ignore that rehash incident. But you still don't give your numeral title the care it needs to stand up to your well liked earlier offerings. You release your numeral title with fingers crossed.
