Endurance Run: The Matrix Online: Not Like This - Part 02

Watching any MMO is a test of patience, especially if it's one you're not familiar with.  Combine that with trying to keep it moving for the audience and the fact that these guys don't play MMOs and you're going to be bored no matter what.

As for people getting offended about the game being reflected poorly, be serious.  The game looks like crap, it's based on something that is all but forgotten and is now regarded as the most overhyped franchise of the last decade, and it looks to be about the most overly-complex MMO to ever come out.  There's nothing to defend, the game has 3 servers and is now free to play until it dies.  The state of the game speaks far more hashly than a dude on a web site.

I've played several MMOs over the last 15 years, and this one looks worse than any of them, even SWG.

i checked out the MxO Forum thread about this. One guys says their just trying to get picked up by the escapist. That makes no sense. Keep up the ER

Ryan is acting like a popular insensitive kid hating on his unpopular friend, Vinny. I love Vinny.. it's sad to see that someone doesn't. This only makes me see Jeff as a greater person than I used to, which I thought was impossible. Jeff & Vinny FTW!

Some of those MxO players need to just get over it. No matter what they say or do the game is still going to be shut down in a couple weeks. It's pathetic.

I'm glad to see that some players decided to be helpful to Ryan and Vinny though. I guess that shows that not all MxO players are complete assholes.

I can see it now: Ryan running away from an angry mob, the chat window constantly getting filled with gems like:

… and then an admin, GM or whatever comes along and bans Ryan and Vinny for being too silly for MXO, because "Online Matrixism" is a very serious business.

Oh wow, that forum post is serious business isn't it. They really need to fucking lighten up a bit, it's a game (and a terrible one at that).

Quick look was pretty funny even though the actual game is so dull that it's hard to really make it interesting. At least some games are so terrible it's funny, but matrix is just bad and...dull.


A tip though to the matrix fanboys, there IS a reason why your game is the first game SOE is shutting down. Just let that one boil in for a moment, even games such as Planetside are still going on under SOE.

Do you talk to yourself like that when you play games all the time Ryan, or are you doing it just for the video so we know what your doing?

Can't blame Ryan for wanting to be abit more serious, the MxO community took alot of offense over the first video. Don't know why, would of been the same for any MMO, always confusing as hell for the first 10 levels.

Well bless synapse or whoever for trying to show them something. But you know as much as I love giantbomb, it does get kind of tiring to see nearly every game they put to video, they're entirely inept at playing.

And while the clownish behavior is part of the appeal of giantbomb, I can't help but feel a little embarrassed when there's another community involved as with this MxO deal. Regardless of how small and.... odd it may be.

Seriously, some of you guys need to take a look at yourselves.  You're blindly insulting a community of people who enjoyed playing a certain MMO and in turn defending the site that you have attached to.  I enjoy Giant Bomb but those of you who are calling the MxO community 'retards' or any other insult to that effect are no better than those who insult the Endurance Run with such words.  How would you feel if your favorite video game was played ridiculously by 2 guys who also joke about every aspect of it?  Even if for the majority of you guys the Matrix Online looks stupid, there are people who enjoy it, just like with everything.  Stop acting like Giant Bomb fanboys who will defend them 'till no end and acting as if they're the best.  I enjoy Giant Bomb, and the Matrix Online does not look that appealing to me, but act intelligently.

I have some very fond memories of playing MxO back when it was actually FUN.  Like all MMOs, it had a great community and i met a lot of interesting people while playing.  It also had an interesting story arc but i quit playing once i realized the writters were just pulling plot devices out of their ass.
