I love when GB plays old games but I wish they wouldn't cheat. I feel like an important part of experiencing and judging a game, especially an older one, is experiencing its challenge.

Pinball quest kinda reminds me of Pokemon Pinball for the GBC. That game had some interesting mechanics where you had to hit certain things to initiate a wild pokemon encounter, and then hit it to capture it. Might be interesting to check out on this show, despite being a bit newer? Also it had fantastic music

@jeff missed the live stream but if you hit or hold down one of the buttons during the last two ending screens in Thunderforce 3, you can animate them. A couple I remember are the pilot waving and one of the pilots eyes can go up and down.

This is great, I'm glad this is a recurring thing now.

I haven't watched all of this. But I love the idea, that it's the 90s - and that you guys are talking about the differences between the Street Fighter: The Movie arcade and home versions!!!!

The quality on the Youtube link seems to max out between 360p and 480p (seems to change when I refresh the page)

Thunder Force IV is by far my most favourite game of all time, since it was practically one of my first video games that I've ever played.

This is already one of my favorite series, great idea for a mid week show.

Thunder Force 3 is easily my favorite game of its type. That fucking music. You can't tell me the SNES has better music than the Genesis, because this game exists. I got this alongside Strider, Super Monaco GP, and I suppose Altered Beast since it was the Genesis pack in for Christmas '90. That is still probably my favorite childhood Christmas.

This is the best currently running feature on the site. Nice job.

Hey duders, just wanted to say this show idea is a fantastic one and is a great premise for a weekly show, especially considering Jeff and co's collection of games.

Keep up the great work! It makes the decision to re-up with my yearly subscription that much easier.

About 20 minutes into Thunder Force I came to realize that not only did I play that game, I played the shit out of it. Must've rented it a bunch of times only knowing the box art.

Virtua Cop 2 had a PC version, I believe. I know I at the very least played a demo of it at one point.

Yeah, the first two Wizards & Warriors games are pretty terrible. The third one's okay in that it has better graphics, the best music and a more coherent structure. But the controls are still bad and the levels sadly less varied than Ironsword (the second one).

That music though.

I don't know if that Bloodborne thing was just relayed incorrectly or what, but I pretty much went through all of Bloodborne with suspending and resuming and I've definitely seen every attack from every boss. Do need to restart for co-op to function properly though. Imagine that they didn't really test the game for the suspend-resume stuff as it came out like 2 days after the game launched.

With all the Ken Griffey Jr. talk lately it would be cool to see Jeff and Dan play a game on this show...

For this feature to continue they really need to play good old games. If UPF has taught us anything it's that the viewers almost always chooses poor quality games. Choose an old game each, either a beloved game from their childhood or something they always wanted to play and then play it.

Einhander was pretty great.

Is there some cutoff point for what is deemed an old game? SNES/Genesis i assume? I'd love to see some Robot Oddysey if possible, but it may be too tedious. Fantastic show and i really like the core crew of jeff/brad/rorie. Good length, too, to provide a decent look at the games without overstaying its welcome.
