I missed the Star Trek train, and I get the feeling that it's not something I can get into if I missed the initial push.

It's never too late to watch TNG and DS9. Those shows are kinda dated, but also totally timeless.

But skip The Original Series. "Dated" would be be a very generous descriptor for that.

Spot on dude. I'm nearly done with my first viewing of TOS and it's taken me nearly a year to do so. I want to watch them all then the movies, then TNG, but even with 14 episodes left I'm struggling to finish TOS. The plots are super simple and usually just end with Spock solving how to fix everything in the last 5 minutes of a 50 minute episode. I'm more just watching it for the characters, but the third season has been one huge bore so far.

The Original series does have its moments though. I didn't follow Start Trek closely as a child or even as a teen but I have seen re-runs of both the Original Series, TNG, and later on DS9 so I am familiar with some aspects of the lore so when something gets mentioned that is Star Trek related it's not lost on me unless it's something that is super specific.

Part of me wants to hurt you for saying such things, but the other part can't help but agree. I think The Original Series is best left for after TNG. If you find out you really like Star Trek, then watch the original.

This was great to listen to as a bombcast since most of the crew were there. Really enjoyed all of the talk in this TNT.

I started watching the original series a few days ago and I'm really enjoying it. It's even in HD on netflix!

Possibly the worst TNT to date. They got a lot of appreciation for playing YDKJ last week so what kept them from playing it again?

Are you perhaps familiar with diminishing returns?

This is my guess but this was probably something that they would have done last week since it was also the same week as the opening for Star Trek: Into Darkness but couldn't do it since Jeff wasn't in the office due to it being out of the office for E3 Judges week.

It's interesting as a social commentary of the time, but as science fiction or even a "space western" it's really not good. There's a reason it only ran 3 seasons.

I know they couldn't have done a TNT to the levels of YDKJ a week after, or even play it again, but they could easily replicate that same experience by playing some game show games and the like.

Good to see Jeff back, but this one was kinda lame.

This was one the best TNTs in a long time. Rorie was nailing it both on the chat aspect and dropping Star Trek knowledge.

I'm genuinely interested in this game. Never watched the show or played an mmo but the game looks really good. Far better than the beta TWO OFFICES AGO.

This TNT was actually pretty good. I did not pay attention to Jeff playing AT ALL, but I liked the TV talk from Matt, Patrick, Ryan, and Brad.

I think the songs on Random Access Memories that people aren't liking are really just songs that you should listen to alone driving down the highway.

Also I am kind of shocked that "Lose yourself to dance" isn't the most popular song on the album. I mean its catchy and has more robot voices.

Agreed. The CD even says "includes Lose Yourself to Dance and Get Lucky".

I also like the Paul Williams tracks most of all, and DP continues to make fantastic driving music. Alive 07 is my go-to road trip album. RAM is also not unlike what Justice did with Audio Video Disco, but funk/disco instead of prog. I really liked AVD too, so.

And every Romulan player's game starts...exactly. The. Same.

There's people who can't stand this in single-player RPGs, and this is getting chronic.

God nouveau MMO design makes my head hurt.

Cracks me up when Patrick (or any other Lost fan) talks about how terrible other shows are. Lost, beyond about a season a half, is total and utter garbage.

Entertaining? Maybe. Well-written? Absolutely not. The plot-holes were legion by the middle of the third season. The writers basically admitted they were making shit up as they went along. Don't get me wrong, I watched the whole damn thing with the vain hope that they'd pull their heads out of their asses at some point. But they never did, and by the time it became clear that it was all a big to-do about a glowing waterfall or some dopey shit, it's safe to say I only watched it to laugh at its dead-end writing and "plots."
