I love chill out time with Jeff. I love that he's answering our questions. I love the crude nature of the videos being filmed with a webcam in a bedroom or wherever Jeff happens to be. I even love that he doesn't care about leaving in a minute or so of him pushing buttons on his phone. Why? Because it feels like I'm actually hanging out with him. I don't mean that to sound weird and pathetic, I simply mean it's nice to have the fourth wall broken down rather than just be talked at about games. In short, this type of content is why I'm already putting away money for next year's membership.

It's not so bad this time. The first one was worse for me. I think he has a crappy stereo mic on his webcam and it keeps going back and forth between the left and right channels. If they put these up with mono sound it would probably be better.

Cartoon porn?  Maybe not.  Cartoon sex scene?  Pretty much the same as real life sex scene, or video game sex scene.  It's there for the narrative.

Technical industries always have tons of paperwork, especially if the business in question is of any considerable size. I'm not sure how much this trend would cross over into the land of entertainment but I imagine there is quite the amount of fallen trees that went into making a videogame as well.

@Melos: Hit the nail on the head. The personality of the site has always been the most important part of this to me and this is pure unfiltered opinion and personality.

Can anyone explain why the PS3 takes so long to download stuff for some people? I've never had this issue, and I do not have some super-awesome bandwidth; I'm almost at the minimum for cable speed. Yet I've seen numerous complaints that a PS3 download will take 10, 20, 40 hours. I downloaded that Uncharted 3 thing in 22 minutes, yet here is Jeff saying it's going to take more than 100x that and I've heard other people say the same thing.

I'm honestly interested in this. I don't know nearly enough about tech to have any explanation.

It's more like refresh rate/frequency versus detail/resolution. Also as resolutions keep getting higher it's going to become more of a challenge especially considering that the concept of parallel computing on developing consumer products is a relatively new thing so it will take time for people to fully get their head around it.

But ya basically, image processing requires doing a hell of a lot of math to take compressed image datasteams and try to recover the information with very little to no loss. As the amount of data that goes into making that image goes up it means that the frequency at which you can pump out frames is going to take a hit unless there is either faster hardware or more efficient algorithms turning that compressed data stream into an image and well that's a very laborious task to constantly try to figure out how you can make it faster on old outdated hardware. Alternatively you can have less heavily compressed image data but that means the amount of space you require for that data is going to go up meaning you'll need more memory to deal with it, which again goes back to hardware limitations.

Also, for the Call of Duty games, I think while some people would notice the framerate drops if the stereotype that the people playing those games are either drunk or high, while doing so than they definitely wouldn't. Seeing as you become more impaired the brain itself can't handle processing the amount of data being received at your eyes as fast as say when you are wide awake in the middle of the day.
