Unprofessional Fridays: 03/28/2014

Always nice to have the Sports Crew appear out of nowhere for some deep dives. We need more foreign sports. Cricket was successful, handball made sense. I wanna see them understand rugby for me.

I've seen countless Tauren named Hoofhearted in different variations and never got it until now.

My cat is watching Goat simulator and probably getting some very bad ideas.

@humanity A lot of his content on Gamespot is certainly solid but so many of his great features could get tweaked and be used on here. I mean sure I'll take him as a regular on some of the streams like UPF, but out of all the Gamespot people he surely fits in with the GB crew the best. He also finds himself on GB streams more than anyone else either.

@fisk0: I'm guessing it's some kind of cost/benefit analysis based on the assumption that including women would be too much effort for little to no return. Kinda the general self-fulfilling prophecy that afflicts video games and media as a whole.

Maybe they're right, even, but holy god is it ever frustrating. Even my favorite series, Skate, started out on that sour note. Watching people who look like me doing really cool athletic stuff is so much more engaging than the alternative that's usually the only option.

Handball actually looks pretty rad. But it really is totally weird that you score on the goalie that wears the same color as your team.

My two favourite things are goats and handball, so for me, this was fantastic.

You don't necessarily. It's just how goalies have different color outfits in many sports, like soccer. In the game, for some reason, they just so happened to be the opposite team's colors... Also, handball is a pretty neat sport. The rule about not being allowed contact with the floor inside the goal area while attacking makes for some pretty awesome plays when people do it well. It's like trying to slam dunk a goal that's still 15 feet away and guarded by another dude.

I'm an American from New York and I've played quite a lot of Handball. We played it in gym class, though we called it European Team Handball. It was one of my favorite sports in gym, mostly cuz I was really good at it and would average 3-4 goals a game.

He seems to be a pretty big part of Gamespot, i'm just happy to see him showing up occasionally with the GB crew, he fits in very well with them.

Goat Simulator is finally bending back the simulator genre into legitimate weird and not just the usual "I hear Europeans really like to play this game"-kind-of-weird. Video games are doing alright.

Perfect mix of games. Better than watching the Fugitive.

There's only one thing that has frustrated me about Gang Beasts being on Unprofessional Fridays: On the dual platform lift level no one has ever tried grabbing the controls for the lift. Has anyone else noticed the controls in that level? I was so curious to see if it's actually functional - so I'll have to download it I guess!

Hopefully we'll see a QL of Goat Simulator at some point too, that game is just to good to be shown only for such a brief amount of time.

Danny's stream of the game on GS is also great.

There are two games I love seeing the crew play, Nidhogg and Gang Beast.

Ok, this one I know I'll watch cause Goats be CRAZY :) but the Unpro Fridays have been real bad on interesting content for a while. TNT was more my cup of tea.

Handball is great to watch. It was totally at the Olympics.

Though the only true handball game is Dead Ball Zone on PS1 (it's basically the same rules).

And only marginally more violent.

Gang Beasts never fails to make me nearly die laughing, so good. Gang Beasts >>> Windjammers, and I was a big Windjammers fanboy. Goat Simulator was pretty damn funny too. Great show.

So it's basically like every other Friday, filled with farmhouse madness.

I love watching Vinny win. He's never a sore loser or a sore winner. He's just so easy to root for. Jeff, on the other hand, is somebody I love to see lose.

@trilogy: yeah, I also love seeing vinny win. I think Brad is my favorite person in the crew to see lose, just because he is always so quick to blame the game on any shortcomings (though he seems to have gotten better about that, of late)

Agree about Vinny, disagree about Jeff. Brad is the hyper-competitive one of the group, and essentially the anti-Vinny when it comes to temperament in multiplayer games. Jeff doesn't seem to care.
