The best explanation I have heard before is that the voices in Rorie's head are very loud, and he voices them at every whim without a filter and just as loudly - so loudly that he isn't listening to what is going on around him or from others, regardless of the deleterious nature it brings to the show.

Oh boy, I hope this is the last time they play that racing game...

I think the term consolelocked would be fitting when talking about a timed console exclusive...

ex: "Nah I think that new Tomb Raider game is consolelocked to PS4 for like a year..."

I ended up skipping it. It's just so boring to watch.

@kdr_11k: Wow, thanks for sharing. HG:L was the first of that type of game I really tried, and thought it was kinda great. I'll definitely be keeping a close eye on this thing.

On Rorie, the only time I get irritated by him is when he derails a conversation I was interested in hearing. Other than that, I generally enjoy his stream-of-consciousness presence on the show.

Couple people have been getting a bit antagonistic over him, which is a shame. People can like or dislike a particular staffer, and people can agree or disagree with their reasoning, but there's no reason it can't be kept genial.

Gearbox, man.

I don't see why we never get both out on the couch at least occasionally. I'm all for losing the tricaster/video edit jokes for both of them.

I've been to Belden for a music festival before... fun place, right on the pacific crest trail. Stilldream. It was about 4 years ago, but it looks like its still going strong.

Anyone else notice during the G4 segment the issue of too much "snark" was brought up during the interview in refrence to sites like Kotaku, and Jeff went on to say that he wants to foster a positive site that doesn't make fun of games at the expense of devs busting their ass for 18 months? I think that would be a nice attitude for the site to get back to. Sites like Engadget and Kotaku are such turn offs because they just crap on products with "clever" snark, even though they are no contributing zeros that wouldn't be able to produce that type of product in a million years themselves. Giant Bomb needs to not be like that, with all the negative attittudes towards stuff. Especially Ben who is just a snark machine, contently trying to make a shitty comment about everything. I'm surprised any devs agreed to come to the E3 shows this year with the amount he snipes at stuff.

Indie Pogo is looking way better than it did last I saw it, but I'm still not sure what the constant jumping is supposed to add to the experience.

Got curious and did a Google and it seems the prevalent kind of proximity fuze back in the day used radio waves. The shell would contain a transmitter, using the casing as an antenna, and when it got close to something solid the waves would bounce back and cause an interference pattern that could be measured to figure out the distance to the object, and then some electronics did their thing when it reached a certain distance and pow.

@kdsb: I thought Rorie was on during this episode in particular. I really enjoyed his contribution to the show.
