Siren: Blood Curse is the PlayStation 3 installment in Sony's horror franchise, available for download in episodic packs on PlayStation Network.
this game felt to short
I'm not even half-way through Blood Curse yet, but I agree that it seems to be a very brief experience, with episodes running about an hour, maybe a little less. I think it's good enough and scary enough to be worth the money regardless, though, unless it takes a dive later on in the episodes.
"40 buck is a lot for any game, even RE4 when I first got it."Come to the UK and let your wallet feel the pain.
The demo was what i have been looking for in a (don't kill me) a silent hill type game. I couldnt get into the first Siren Game.
So i guess there is no consensus review on said game,
Maybe nobody buys it and in a week it will be twenty instead of fourty like the first or second poster said.
I thought the game was pretty decent, although certain characters you have to play and tasks you must do are a bit dumb. But most games of this nature are pretty short for sure. Alot of people thought Silent Hill 2 was the best in the series(if you're a fan of SH) and even so,i've seen that game beaten under 2 hours.
I wouldnt complain about the price :) In Denmark the standard price point for a single new ps3 game is 115 dolars !!!
If you've got two friends who are on the fence about the game as well, you can each buy one of the $15 bundles and use the PS3's game sharing feature to get the whole set if you don't think it's worth $40.
I've only beaten the first chapter, but it's managed to draw me in more than the demo did. Also, the archive items you find in the game actually reveal things in the story you wouldn't have seen or known otherwise, so there's some actual motivation to replay chapters and find the ones that take some scrounging to find.

So it's about 10-12 hours long? That sounds like a pretty acceptable game time for a $40 game, but I guess that's subjective.
Siren is like Silent Hill's mood, Fatal Frame's Story, RE's zombies (they won't die though), and MGS's stealth with some hide and seek.
Gameplay is also like Silent Hill's but with more stealth elements. (Cannot leave room to avoid enemies like other games since it's a big area w/o loading screen between rooms)
Overall, it's creepy and scary.
It's seemed really long to me because I keep getting stuck. I think it bases it's longevity on searchning areas in which case I keep getting lost and I never just stumble upon the place I'm meant to be. Which is frustrating a bit. And the close camera and nauseating Sight Jacking mode don't make this game any less of a headache.
But funnily enough I think all of those things are intended.
If you keep stumbling into your objective I'm sure you can get through the game within a few hours but I'm still yet to finish my first play though.
And the archive things are worth collecting.
