Skate was awesome, it was the realistic skating experience i had been looking for ever since the THUG days. (because they weren't that great nor realistic)

So i can safely say that Skate 2 has the chance to be even more awesome, so here are someofthe things i like and the things that i don't like so far from the demo (Most of this stuff is aesthetic, since the gameplay has thankfully remained the same)

    THINGS I LIKE

Better Bails (painful poses included in the set!): The ragdoll physics have been vastly improved over the original, intentional bails coupled with mid air poses, makes bailing a much funner experience.

Dirty Bloody Money: Reminding me heavily of THPS4, your character will now show some visual bloody scrapes and dirt after a nasty fall, and The Thrasher Hall of Meat now has even more painful statistics to show you. You can get paid money in compensation off course.

Gender Option: You can now play as a female...

Deck The Halls!: There seems to be way more decks than the original, and i wasn't counting, but there even seems to be more varied trucks and wheels too, more the merrier i say.

Move It!: Originally i thought it would be clunky, but moving objects around is fluid and easy, it feels great!

Trippy Hippy Jumpin': You can now Hippy Jump on command, which is great...But it's even more fun to intentionally Hippie Jump off a tall ledge instead...Also, there's more tricks and moves to pull off, more technicality!

CJ Says "My Threads? Oh Fo Sho!": There also seems to be way more clothing this time round, and even more varied clothing for that matter, it all looks nice.

Resting Place: The "Coffin" is back, nuff said.

Skipping: Off Your Board + Constantly Jumping Foward = Laughs

    THINGS I DON'T

...But I Now Know Why Females Weren't An Option Before: Because it can be hard to tell the difference between the two genders in this game if you're not careful.

I Like What You Did With Your Face:
Well i don't, the faces in Skate 2 look...odd, particularly with your character, regardless of how many sliders you change when making it.

When Things Get Hairy: The hair still looks bad...like...bad.

Tank or Damage Per Second?: Who was in charge of the walking mechanic in this game? and why did they make it so stiff!? sure you get used to it, but i can't help but wonder...why is moving heavy objects around, easier than walking?

It's Not You, It's Me?: I can't tell if it's slow-mo, a bad framerate (due to my TV) or a mixture of both, but when bailing hard, i'd rather see it in a fluid 60 fps.

Shake That Jello: It could be the T-shirts im wearing, but when walking, the end tail of those shirts, just wobble and wobble...it's alarming.

Going Through Rough Customs: The custom option for decks and hats ect. aren't that great, for the decks, i'd rather see something of THUG or Evolution Skateboarding quailty, where you could place stickers and graphics around like it was Forza. Also i noticed after making a custom hat...you couldn't change it's wear option.

I can't wait for the full game!

I hope you don't mean THUG was a realistic skating game! Though it's still one of my favourite games of all time and the best skating game of all time (above THPS2 before someone mentions it).

I think Skate really sucks to be brutally honest, hope you enjoy it though!

No, for clarification, i mean THUG is UNREALISTIC, same goes for all the Tony Hawk games, which is why around them days i was looking for something that WAS realistic, after playing 4 or 5 games of Tony Hawk.

THPS3 or 2 are often reffered as the best in the series. But for me THPS4 is my favourite, and always will be.

Made me snicker. I agree with just about everything.

However you can create very custom decks on the skate2 website for upload into the retail version.

Perhaps they'll release a title update that will fix the walking controls. I mean people cannot even sidestep or walk backward. Wow.

And the ladies need to actually look like ladies. Not all skater chicks are stick figures.

EDIT: Another complaint is the inability to cycle through basic camera modes when previewing a replay (before editing the clip). Way too many button presses are required when it should be one or two.

Oh of course! that skate 2 website thing, how silly of me to forget, i forgot about that you see. oh well.

And yeah i noticed that yesterday, the camera for replays...what the hell? it's not as easy as it was before if i remember correctly.

A patch for walking controlls would be nice, don't want to get my hopes up though.

Another thing that bugs me, is how shoes are permanently dirty, which sucks for white shoes, cus i like them clean!

Also, on a custom deck...the griptape is new, compared to the other worn out stuff.

Good post. The THPS games went downhill after 4. It's time for a new era. Skate was amazing. Can't wait to own skate 2! I love the demo!

Got skate 2 yesterday. Totally more skate, but so far I can't see too much improvement.
    I have some criticisms.

Being able to get off your board is a godsend, but boy is it clunky.
Some missions are still hella frustrating. I haven't sweared this much at my tv since the Star Destroyer in Force Unleashed.
The game's crashed a few times and I've already experienced a few glitches. Installing it to my harddrive now to see if that helps.
Every character I've met so far have been obnoxious as hell. I wish I could beat them all to death with my skateboard.

As I said, it's more skate, warts and all. Fantastic control system, great world, but I'm gonna have to give it a little more of a go before I can fully recommend it.

I'm quite pissed. My shitty town didn't get any copies today. I woke up early all excited for nothing. Those that say "small towns are the real America" are pandering idiots who are perpetuating underachievement and ignorance.

Now that I'm done ranting, I recall the first skate had atrocious load times when in the skate shop. I would bet installing would reduce small pauses, but shouldn't fix crashes.

Also, I agree that you should be able to knock the fuck out of somebody with your board. The "clothesline" gesture doesn't even knock people over, however it sure sends you flying. Black Box needs to take a course in physics or play GTA4. In real life, things have mass.

Yeah, and actually, i can really really go for more Skate, warts and all, i actually went back and played some original Skate and i've noticed tons of tiny improvements, so im pretty stoked for it. (there is still stuff that's annoying, i'll have to see these hard goals i've heard about too)

I will have to wait til i play the final game for a while, before i can totally get on my high horse and say its 100% awesome. But right now, im loving it.
