recently this game was revealed and everyone went crazy. The internet decided that it was a next gen game that will come out in a year or two. So my question is, what happened?

Strangely enough, I went to the Watch Dogs board because I remember there's a thread in there about it being announced for current-gen, but the OPs in both are mysteriously missing. D:

Yves Guillemot said himself that Watch Dogs was coming out on current generation consoles at least on a GT interview. They showed the PC version and obviously he couldn't say anything about next gen. My guess is that it will come out on both, they probably aren't sure themselves yet.

On the topic of Watch Dogs, it is as much next gen, as it is current gen - for all we know. During the transitional phase between console generations, most games come out for both generations.

to be honest, i am not at all embarrassed by this. While i knew about the truecrimes game that was shut down, i had no idea what they did to it, ie sleeping dogs. This is an open world game, just like the other dogs game. I feel no shame

Sleeping Dogs looks quite a bit nicer on the PC due to DX11 all up in the pants. Watch Dogs was running on a PC as well during the E3 pants creaming so I doubt it will look like that when released on the ps3/360
