    Overview

Sougou Kakutougi: Astral Bout, or simply Astral Bout, is the first in a series of competitive fighting games that focus on the then-fledgling Fighting Network Rings promotion that pits fighters of various disciplines against each other in an early form of televised mixed martial arts, or MMA.

Players can select between nine fighters that each use a distinctive fighting style: Sambo (a Russian martial art similar to Judo), Muay Thai kickboxing, Professional Wrestling (including Lucha Libre), Karate, Judo, Boxing, Kung Fu and a general form of martial arts.
