The fifth installment in Namco's Soul series of weapon-based fighting games, Soulcalibur IV is the first to be released on seventh-generation consoles and the first online entry in the series. It's known for its use of Star Wars characters as guest fighters.
I use the D-Pad. I just can't pull off some of the moves with the analog stick. Although there are a few moves that are alot easier to pull off using the analog stick.
Do training until you can do 80% of your moves than map the controller to those moves than play through single player once than play online and you should be ready telling you cervantes and kilik are for noobs
"I use the analogue stick. The moves seem easier to pull off that way.
I'm only a casual fan of fighters so there's no way in hell I'm shelling out the big-bucks for an arcade stick. "
same here, Analog stick FTW. "
I am here trying to make up my mind whether or not go an grab this game now and play it over my weekend. And as a casual fan of fighters like you guys (though I would love an arcade stick) I cannot justify paying extra for one when I am debating whether to go with the game at all or not. And since I haven't got the game yet I can't give advice on how its best played. But in my experience with other fighters I have always preferred the Analog over the Dpad.
I say go for it! Especially if you can grab a couple of friends to play it with. I'm not usually a big fan of fighters, nor are the guys I play it with, but there's just something really fun about Soul Calibur :)
