Well, it's official then. While he fits, Ezio will still be getting the same amount of playtime from me that I give to most every other guest character in a fighting game; one run through arcade mode, and then left alone forever.

Similar to Kratos in Mortal Kombat, Ezio fits well with the universe of Soul Calibur. Now I just want to play Revelations.........

I'm sort of excited for this game, it's been quite some time since I've played SC. (Since SC4 released, I guess)

I don't give a shit about Soul Calibur anymore but I applaud them for getting a good guest character. He fits in much better than Darth Vader...

Oh hey, they got rid of Nightmare's stupid mouth thing and made him look more like he did in SC3, that's something.

Also the Assassin's Creed music is damned great.

I've got no interest in Soul Calibur, but that was a great trailer.

What troubles me the most about this trailer is that we don't hear Nightmare's voice, adding fuel to the rumor that Nightmare could be female this time...or worse Sophitia.

That would be an absolutely dumb move by Namco. Nightmare should NOT become the new template for whoever is corrupted by Soul Edge. First it was Cervantes, then it was Siegfried/Nightmare..for 3 games straight. Now it's time for something new.

Actually that sounds like a good idea to keep the roster interesting with each game, having both Nightmare and Siegfried as separate characters is lame because they practically play the same.

Flipping V to make it into the assassin's symbol is a nice little touch

Not really. After spending time with Nightmare and Siegfried in SCIV, there felt like there was a definite difference in the way that they played. It's not just a simple model swap.

And man, I would be up for some Nightmare Sophitia. That'd be awesome.

If they justify Ezio's presence with Desmond using the animus to play Soul Calibur V, then everything about this will be golden

It was inevitable, and at this point, it's kind of foolish to criticize the game for including a guest character when the other fighting game developers are doing the same thing. @Hailinel: Fair enough. It was a harmless dig, I have no animosity for the SC series.

I'm okay with this. But then again after Darth Vader there was no where to go but up.

Star Wars characters be damned, I loved SCIV. Despite that, at this point, my anticipation for SCV is rather muted, and the addition of Ezio, who I do think is a badass character, doesn't really do much to elevate my excitement.

For some odd reason this makes me want to buy the game.

as much as i love ezio and assassins creed this just makes me care about soul calibur 5 even less.

I don´t find it as weird as I would´ve expected even though Ezio fighting Nightmare looks crazy but Soul Calibur always had guest characters I didn´t play SCIII but SCII had 3 different guest characters and Star Wars characters in IV , Dead Or Alive 4 had that Halo Spartan girl and Mortal Kombat has friggin Freedy Kruger wich is even more out of place as far as Im concern , the one that it´s really jarring to me is Cole in SFxT because Street Fighter never had any (not counting the Vs games of course) and looks so out of place because this is suppose to be the clash of Street Fighter and Tekken having some other character makes the hole cross thing look less important like just regular VS Capcom and I remember them saying this is not called Street Fighter vs Tekken because we´re crossing both gameplay styles and making it unique to both SF and Tekken, hell Capcom even put some Moster Hunter cats in there for the Vita version , just don´t go crazy with the choices that´s where I stand.

Those aren't Monster Hunter cats. Those are Japanese Sony mascots.

I didn't say it was better, either. But either way, I have no plans to buy the Vita version of the game.
