Got the Need, the need for speed racer.
Speed racer the videogame is based on the racing world seen in speed racer the movie. But before you think this will be terrible like most movie tie-ins , you might be shock. The game doesn't follow the movie because this game is set after the movie. The key thing is that there is no story in this game , it's pure racing game with some car-fu ( a type of car melee attack like that of in f-zero). It's easy enough to think that F-zero is better , but currently there is no F-zero for the Wii. And this game comes damm close. It's quite a good looking , not as polished as Nintendo's games , but far better than most 3 party games out there. The combat and racing has depth , but play the tutorial first to get the most out of your racing experience. I giving this a 8.8. A little bit more length and polish , similar to what i thought of excite truck. Overall it's great fun with 20 cars , 4 class types and loads of championships e.g class 3 has 9 championships and each championships has 4-5 races , some courses are quite long. The courses are amazing and set in 5 different arenas/environments. There is also the usual time trails and single race mode. AI is tough and varied, never making a race feel the same twice , they also have a great ally and rival system , where you can make allies before a race for some extra help, just don't attack them in a race or they could become your rival. Even the AI will attack each other to give a more realistic feeling and this also helps cushion the blow with no online function, but this seems to be the case with most wii games and there is 2 player. There are cheat codes aswell online for fun things to do , like a monster truck and weird coloured version. Well i hope you enjoy the game and the movie.
